Is anyone familiar with the daycare megs playhouse? It is the worst daycare in Gallatin! They feed the kids left overs all week an they get money from the state for the food. Also the employees keep getting bad checks, they have gotten 3 bad ones since June. What is this world coming to when you cant even go to work bc you have nowhere to take your children. If anyone knows of a good daycare, please let me know.

I believe Megs was once called EDuplay??? That is the WORST daycare you could take your kid too!! Most of the staff are only there to get a check and dont really care about the kids....Its a job!!!! I have heard that there are several teachers that even spank kids! DO NOT TAKE YOUR KID THERE!

Amanda and Lilly, by chance have you worked there? My daughter goes there and she has told me a couple of strange things. There is this kid who is a bully and hits other kids and if another kid hits him back then that kid gets expelled, not the bully. I told my daughter if he hits her again then smash him in the balls. I don't care if she gets expelled, we will make other arrangements.
What else do you all know?

LOL...indeed, you want to talk about Meg's playhouse teachers, what about the management? You have an owner that doesn't keep up with what's going on in the centers and then wants to get hateful with parents after trying to do them wrong. You have a site director who may actually be innocent in all this but when stuck between the hateful owner and ghetto director, it doesn't help her case much. My kids attended the summer program and I had planned to bring them back during the school breaks, but you can hang that up. I feel for parents who have no choice but to take their children to this overpriced, unprofessional center. Please tell me why there is not curriculum posted, why is there little to no art work in the younger rooms, why is there no music playing, where is the breakfast/lunch/snack menu? I don't understand how the state can endorse such mediocrity in a childcare center. Maybe it's time the state actually knew what goes on there.

I feel for your daughter. No child should have to feel like they need to resort to violence and no parent should be forced to encourage it in a well run center. I'm sure you don't actually want your daughter ot fight, but what else can you do when people aren't doing their jobs. If it is the same child we had an issue with over the summer than I know who you are talking about and good luck with that. Call the owner, maybe she can help you, but from what I've been told, I wouldn't count on it.

I don't understand how this brat can repeatedly get by with hurting other kids. I would have to change my work schedule up if I were to put my daughter somewhere else. I wouldn't want my daughter to start a fight, but if someone were trying to hurt her, I would want her to stand up and defend herself. I hope she does if he hurts her. I told her I would take her to Dairy Queen and let her order whatever she wanted as reward for standing up for herself. LOL
What else do you all know about this place? And do you all know of a good daycare in Gallatin?

Who's room is your daughter in? My sister worked there but got fired. I cld tell you lots of shit about that place. Nakeda, ghetto...you got that shit right! An as for the owners, they keep their phone off so you'll never talk with them. They let Linda, site director, handle their dirty work an shes a two-faced bitch too.

No I dont work there but I do have a very close friend who did! There is something new there EVERYDAY! My friend told me that in the time she worked there she only saw the owner once or twice. How can an "owener" own something and have NO clue whats going on or even know the people that are workin for them? My friend said that they treat the staff like dog crap and things are never the same! I really feel sorry for the staff because parents dont know what all a teacher has to deal with. The staff has to deal with DHS, parents, kids, an owner, a site director, a director ( which all three say differnt things about the rules) and for what???? I always felt bad for my friend becasue of all the things she had to deal with and folks most of you dont know this but most of these ladies only get paid $7.50 on average!!!! Thats a lot to deal with for only 7.50 an hour. You can work a McDonalds and get paid more than that and do a thinkless job! I know my friend really liked her job there but could no longer go along with the things that were going on so she got out. But she still hears what goes on and she tells me and thats why Im writing on here about this place!

You all are right there is alot that goes on there that no one knows about. I have worked there and as far as i know no one spanks anyone except for a few parents that have worked there with their kids they have spanked THEIR kids no one elses. This is the first and only daycare my kids have ever been in and i am outraged by what goes on there. The good staff that they have they fire and keep the other. Here recently they have told parents they have a past due balance and have to pay it and if they don't they have to find another daycare.

She was in Ms. Hope's room until one day Ms. Hope was gone. My daughter said she was fired, but didn't know what over. I liked Ms. Hope and thought she did a great job with the kids. Now they have Ms. Carolyn and my daughter is telling me all kinds of stuff about her. The kids don't like her at all.
That is not right that the workers have essentially 3 different bosses all saying something different. And for little pay. I do appreciate the fact they probably do their best given the situation.

All parents that have your child in megs' playhouse if the state helps you with the payments you need to start askin how much the state pays and how much they charge cuz i've been bein overcharged. They tell me for my two kids i owe 21 dollars a week, i found out the state pays 22 dollars more than they charge for my two kids. Another thing have you been told about the green snot??? One day a couple months ago I had a phone call from the daycare and they said I had to come pick my baby up because she had green snot comming out of her nose and she couldn't come back till she seen a doc. So I took her and the doc said it meant she was gettin over whatever she had. I have gotten a least 3 phone calls a month if not more tellin me i have to take her to the doc before she can come back. I am luck to have not lost my job THANK GOD for his blessings. I know i haven't recieved any paper work stating they have to be seen by a doc for green snot I also have not found it in the dhs rule book???????? What's goin on here it seems like they want the money but not the kids??? Plus they are a non-profit organization.

My grandchildren go to Meg's Playhouse, but I have tried to get their mother to find another daycare. There is a couple of workers there that I highly recommend if your child could be in their class. The daycare is not professionally run and lots of times parents aren't told when things are going to take place, like today. The kids had their pictures done by a studio and the parents knew nothing about it until they went to pick up their kids. The pics had to be paid for and ordered today. What kind of crap is that?????? If you're like me, you live from paycheck to paycheck, so do most of the parents who have their children there. If the daycare has something planned special for the kids, then they need to send out a notice to all parents at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance so that they are prepared for things like that. They also seem to pick and choose who needs to pay what they owe and who doesn't. How fair is that? Something should be wrote up in the Gallatin newspaper about this daycare. The owner needs to be present quite abit more often and the site director and director need to find another job elsewhere.

Well, Amanda, I am not sure whose room they are in, but the workers that I am familiar with are Ms. Carolyn, Nikki, Diana, and Tabitha. I like them all and have not heard anything against these workers. I know that they show a lot of attention to my grandchildren any time that I have to take them in or pick them up. I don't like speaking to Naketa or Linda because they don't seem to know anything and they change the rules from day to day. The way I look at it is that the daycare is there for people who have children that have to work to make a living, but if they are being called a few hours after their child has been dropped because of this or that, something pretty minor, what is the point of taking your child to daycare. Just stay at home and draw welfare and not do anything to better yourself or make a better life for you and your children. That is what I get from the director and the site director. They don't seem to care about their workers and the more children that they can send home in the middle of the day, the less workers that they will need, so they send them home early (missing a couple of hours of pay on their next check) but since the "top dogs" are probably on salary they aren't missing out on any pay. And what about the so called cameras? They don't work half the time or they aren't even turned on, so when you want to view something that happened because you got a report about your child involved in something that day, they can't show you the footage. HhhhMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I haven't heard anything about green snot. As far as I know, the green snot does not warrant the child be sent home. Fever does, of course, but not green snot. I would like to know about the swine flu case. About a month and a half ago or so, they gave me a paper that said there had been 4 or 5 cases of regular flu and one case of swine flu. I am curious about how sever the symptoms of the swine flu were for the poor child that got it. Probably the flu cases were in the younger class rooms because little kids get sick more often than bigger ones. If anyone knows about the swine flu case, I'd appreciate any info on it. My guess is that it is not any different than regular flu.
As far as how much you are paying goes, I do not qualify for any state help and I pay $55 per week during the school year.

I hadn't heard anything about pictures. I d@mn sure am not going to buy them since I wasn't told anything about it. They take the kids pictures 2 or 3 times during the school year anyway at her school. Seeems every time I turn around there is another pack of pictures to deal with. If I bought all those pictures, I'd be broke, plus have to rent a storage unit.

i have a girl there, i love her teacher.(nikki).she really seems to care about the kids. i have heard that nikki has to go get food and milk for the kids alot,(my mom saw her at walmart)i have also heard they're pay checks bounce more than a superball . if this places closes i have heard the kids may have to go on a waiting list due to all the other centers being full.

I had worked for megs recently and I wouldnt dare post anything untrue.First I would like to say that NO CHILD HAS BEEN SPANKED IN MY PRESENCE!!Yes ms nikki does go to wal- mart to get groceries bc the ice box doesnt hold alot and yes they want fresh food served!(to the parent of left overs).Everywhere you go there will be problems some more than others. thats for that center to deal with. to the parents that read this you wouldnt drop your child off if you didnt think it was safe.. would you?? I sure wouldnt! they care for these kids and they love those kids. they have had a turn over in staff but they work together and provide the best care possible. as far as the "green snot" any one knows thats a sign of infection with the flu spreadind around the building like it was the teachers were told to call parents and yes say plwease pick them up bc it could have already been something starting with a child. Fevers, coughs, runny noses parents dont want to come get their children but what about the children that arent sick??? you would have something tosay if you knew they had a sick child around your well child.!! dont bash the staff for doin the job. to all my ex staff you do a great job. please dont be so judgemental if you dontknow the full story!!

I encountered the "green snot" issue as well. According to the DHS rule book the daycare can send your child home if they have any symptom of a communicable disease, which unfortunately backs them up sending kids home over thick mucous. According to my doctor yes, back in the 80s they said that green snot was automatically a sign of infection. Now green snot can be caused by anything from certain pollens to the the zyrtec you take to fight those allergies. That was is an endless battle, good luck with it.

yes Ive even heard of the money issue my best friend daughter is still enrolled there in ms ellens class.you all need to think about who was there before ms nakedia and wonder what happen. I really didnt get a chance to know her but she seemed to hAVE A HARD TIME WITH lINDA ans when I left Alice still worked there. she can only give you whats shes told. how would you feel being trained in a job where really you have been trained?? I KNOW I WORKED THERE BEFORE.I loved all the children I cared for but the job is never easy. you have to handle things in an orderly fashion and do them by the book.i now work at another child care center and they have problems but it comes with the territory.that doesnt mean this particular one should be bad mouthed. if you dont want them there keep them home- im sure most of you that are writting this DONT WORK ANYWAY!!!
