'Bath Salts' Banned In Ohio City | Ohio News Network (ONN)

Full story: 10TV WBNS

Galion city council voted for a measure Tuesday night at its bi-monthly meeting that will ban the use, creation and sale of "bath salts". Galion Police Chief Brian Saterfield told ONN that bath salts cause hallucinations, paranoia and aggression and are growing in popularity in his city, ONN's Denise Alex reported.

So when stupid people abuse a product-we ban the product? With that said-lets say we abuse a car and start running people down-do we pass a law to make illegal to have or drive a car? We as human beings are really stupid the way we handle soluions. Try putting these abusers in a mental health ward. There's nothing wrong with the product.

OBO care will block the natural selection process. You have to make the punishment cruel and unusual enough that they give up the crime....period

Bath salts do not contain synthetic cannaboids, as this article states. Bath Salts contain a specific kind of amphetamine. Not methamphetamine, but an amphetamine.

Well said. Now the well meaning bath salt producers will be out of work. Who cares about that as long as we keep our stupid residents from snorting it? How about putting it behind the counter or asking for ID when purchasing?

"Ohio City" is not Galion. It is Ohio City, located Van Wert County. Maybe a better title would have been "Another Ohio City Bans....." ONN is going to have to get out of Southern Ohio one of these days!!!

Wrong. These products were created to be used as a drug, period. These aren't your grandma's Calgon baths we are talking about!

Bath Salt should be banned, my best friend started using it at the beginning of last mth and she has already had all of her kids taken away and spends every dime of her ssi, childsupport and sells all of her foodstamps because she discovered this new drug, its so bad here where I live people are killing people and thereselves because its so addictive....People are only buying it because the high lasts longer and its cheaper then other drugs and soon as they see how powerful it is they are getting hooked, if seen this first hand, i hope it gets banned everywhere for good

I saw a story not long ago about a poor brain damaged college kid that tried this stuff...what is it exactly, anyway?

This is legal, and pot isn't? Can't remember reading a story about someone smoking weed and ending up in a coma.

Ok so thats not true everyone one of the these bath salts and even the K2 Say on it everyone one for it to be able to sell it at a store it says on it " NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION" THAT IS THE ONLY WAY A STORE IS ABLE TO SELL THEM....I think that people who wanna get high on salts go into it like the would coke or meth or even pills....it's not like that I very little will go so so far, so all the bad stories that you here on tv and news papers are the people who don't know what there doing. before you should put anything in your face you should know something about it dude get online and look up some stuff about it get all the info and then talk to your friends who have done it i'm sure that they could tell you.....the thing that gets me the most is have at one time LSD and POT... COKE...all Opioids you could get like you can salts now...what does that tell you....you can get LSD POT COKE METH or whatever today and 1,000 of people do what make anyone one person who is like yeah no more bath salts Dude Really Really if you think that boy will be red in the face when after the ban of these salts....and you still hear about people who are all crazy and still on the bath salts....so I think that the bad is not helping anyone other then drug dealers because then it will be like how coke, pot, meth is bought and sold......that is when the death will start because A Drug Users will always find the high they are looking for.....I think it is dumb for the ban because it's not going away just like pot and lsd in the 60's......coke in the 70's to mid 80's...then came CRACK for the late 80's to mid 90's then it was Meth... to Now where it's Prescription Drug/Bath Salts I just think that we are going to and have always been on the losing side of this DRUG WAR So my point to all this madness i have been talking....Is that Ban or NO Ban it's here and here to stay.....

Bath salts dont contain synthetic cannabinoids. Those are completely different compounds all together. Do these news companies just vomit whatever comes across their desk to the public, without doing any research. Bath salts are amphetamines, also known as cathinones. The synthetic cannabinoids that this article discusses are "supposedly" found in herbal incense or spice. BATH SALTS and SPICE = 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS! Do you research....

I am in total agreement with natural selection. Give them a comfortable pit to hang in and sell them all the salt they want. Use the money to purchase coffins and pay grave diggers. Put this country back to work. It is a pity this world contains so many self-centered and emotionally crippled individuals.
