MYTH 1:“Foreign cars are better.” MYTH 2:“Driving foreign doesn’t hurt economy.” Today, both are ILLUSIONS!

As to No. 1, check recent J.D. Power reports: In quality American and foreign run neck and neck. Material differences that might have existed years ago, no longer do.

But persons brainwashed by BIASED media think otherwise. No wonder! For years they’ve been reading to what amount to free ads for the Japanese.

Yes, incredibly, FOR FREE (you have to wonder about this) our own media help sell MILLIONS of Japanese cars. This crucial help for the Japanese plus their salespersons’ unethical-trashing pitches cost Ford, GM, and Chrysler millions of sales! And since the Big 3 impact 20% of our economy, America loses millions of JOBS. So much for Myth 2.

But the Japanese say:“We build cars in the U.S.”

Yes, SOME. And we’re supposed to ignore that profits from them GO TO JAPAN and benefit people there, not here!

Another interesting fact: MOST Japanese cars sold here are built in Japan and shipped here!

In sum, Japanese-parent-automaker companies in Japan get 31% of their income from America, billions each year.

We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite our almost 50 million people with no health care, 39.8 million living in poverty, 77,000 bridges needing rebuilding or repairs, interstate highways and city schools deteriorating, and unemployment the highest in 26 years.

Despite all that, we let Japan feed on us? Can we build cars there? No! They impose barriers that make it almost impossible. In ‘08 we sold only 10,000 there! But they sold us 3-4 MILLION! Fair trade?

And how about this: They’ve even refused to buy our apples! Practically speaking, they close their 160 million-people market to us.

We let them get away with this? Yep! In Washington, they have a powerful lobby. E.g., recently, they creamed the Clunkers program.

We have 81 billion in the Big 3. So, what did we do? Instead of helping them, we made things worse for them by boosting Japanese automakers. Sales of Japanese cars here had been slipping. Ford was outselling Toyota! So, Clunkers ended that.

How? Well, unlike the inventory-pinched Big 3, the Japanese had a generous supply of Clunkers-eligible cars. So, the program handed the Japanese hundreds of thousands of conquest sales. This will cost us more jobs.

Yes, despite Clunkers’ sound-good figures, the Big 3 got the short end. The riches went to the Japanese and S. Koreans. We blessed them with conquest sales of Big 3 customers. Duh!

Anyway, speaking of S. Koreans, in ‘08 they sold us 800,000 cars. But they bought only 6,000 of ours. Fair trade?

Another bummer: Few if any Big 3 dealers push,“BUY AMERICAN?” Why not? They also sell Japanese and S. Korean. If they’d push American, however, they’d put hundreds of thousands back to work. Yes, dealers could really help the economy. But shortsightedly they don’t.

Anyway,“FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS,” fueled by our own media, has finally caught up with us. So far, it’s cost us a million jobs! We could lose up to 4 million.

But there’s hope: the Big 3 are getting stronger. Even so, the Asians are poised to devour them.

Let’s stop them by supporting our bread and butter, GM, Chrysler, and Ford. And speaking of Ford, lately, it has been shining. This could mean we’re realizing: CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME, not in Japan or S. Korea!

That to get jobs back and assure more future ones for our kids, we have to cure ourselves of “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS!”

So, when we lease or buy, let’s make it AMERICAN!

“God bless America, land that I love.”

P.S.“Toyota has been charged in a class action suit with illegally hiding evidence from plaintiffs in cases stemming from highway deaths and injuries across the U.S.”
