LOL! Sorry about laughing, but couldn't help it.
Hall County Wrecker ripped you off big time.
They are the sneakiest, most underhanded bunch of....well, you know....that I've ever had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting.
Word of advice........
Whenever possible, no matter where you are, request your own towing company to come after your car.
Even if it's the company on call with AAA.
Prices are always jacked sky high when the city or county sheriff calls out the company that is on list for that particular week due to state ordinances.
Second, never, ever let a company tell you that your car can't be towed where you want it towed unless the officer says that it must be impounded.
It's a way to weedle money out of you.
Third, Hall County Wrecker probably won't go after you for the amount due on the car.
They'll wait 6 months, which I believe is the least amount of time they have to wait, and tag the car as abandoned.
From there, they'll obtain the title and resell the car, if it's saleable, to get thier money from it.
If it's totalled and can't be sold, they'll send it to the crusher and still pocket some money.
Fourth, next time you're in Hall County and need a wrecker company, look me up.
My husband and son work for the most reputable company in the county, and they treat thier clients with respect and dignity.
Ask any county or city sheriff around here who the best tow operator is, and you'll probably hear the same names dropped over and over again.
*Yea, it's XXX and his son, ZZZ*.
If you do, you'll know who my husband and son are (names withheld for obvious reasons).
Wish you would have had that information in hand before this all happened.
I wish you luck.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me through here.

That is the good part, they were told not to hook up the car until they gave me a price and would tow it to a location I wanted, They said come pay that bill and for another $85.00 they would take it anywhere I wanted, Now this was before they loaded it and then was told not to load it, The police over seen there was a hassle going on and told the wrecker driver to get it moved, I said to the police officer to not let them take it without telling me what I asked, He said that was between me and the wrecker company and off my car went.
Now a tow bill that should have been no more $100.00 turned into a bill of $375.00
Now here is the good part, You are in the wrecker service, When a wrecker service applies to be on rotation they agree to the City wrecker ordinance which say's they can charge 75.00 administrative fee if they have to locate the owner, They also added that and I was in contact with them the whole time.
Now here is the icing on the cake, Went to court and the first thing out of the judges mouth was that the City ordinance had no bearing on the case.?????? Even though Gainesville Wrecker and Towing agreed to those ordinances when they applied to be on the rotation.
I even got the police cam vedio showing all this and the judge refused to even look at it, Kind makes yo uwounder what was really going on.
They were even told by a Captain in the city police to remove it they refused, Now here is the people that are suppose to have authority over the wrecker rotation that do not have the power to do anything about it.
From now until the day I die this will be one of my daily commitments is to let people know what is going on.
The link you went to is not the front of the site, this is. www.wreckerserviceripoffs.com From there you can go to the forums. I am not seeking any kind of $ just want to get the word out there, I even sent a copy of the link to the Gainesville police department.
My hope is, but probably will never happen is to find as many people as I can that have been ripped off and then ban together to do something about stopping these kind of rip offs.
One person complaining has no power a large group will have some power to take thing forward.
Again if anyone has had the same problem please Email me [email protected]

I want to clarity this, I am not saying all wrecker companies are crooks, I have had a lot of cars towed in the past with no problems, The last one before this happened , My fuel pump went out on my truck in Lawrenceville and Called Lance, Asked them what they charged,$35.00 hook up fee and I think a dollar or so a mile, They came got me and the truck, took it to my house, Gave me a bill I gave them a credit card and paid it. He left happy and I was happy.

i would like to know the rules , laws, ordinances, concerning towing of vehicles in hall county when law enforement calls the tow company on call and before they hook up the vehicle, the owner or a designated person to drive the vehicle and who can show the key to the police arrives willing to drive the vehicle home.
This happened recently and the police demanded the tow truck load the vehicle but would allow it to bring the car anywhere we designated but would not allow us to cancel the tow and drive off with the vehicle. We were even willing to pay the tow truck driver for his time.
i cannot find any county or state ordinances concerning this so I figured the state trooper just had a attitude

Wrecker list are good most of the time insurance min is higher than normal. Storage and provide sercurity training equipment cost fuel and permits went from 150 to 500 in one year. Prepaid insurance for 6 months light bill phone line cell phones etc. truck was 6 years ago 47,000. Know same style truck is 106998.00 Blackburn truck sale, Atlanta wrecker sales smryna truck sales check them all . The states past guideline in 2007 that car tow price basic is 125 .00 that's just a car car that was abanded . When 911 calls you have 20 to 30 minutes respond the state permit is 300.00 just to tow so when you put it all together it gets costly. The min wage has went up sense then just like every thing else . I'm sorry you had that experience towing is very expensive .

Has anyone had an experience with a towing company in Hall County that has charged $3,000.00 to get your car after an accident. The car has been at this tow company for 3 days and is considered totaled.

I wonder how Gainesville Towing has been in business for 50 yes fifty years by treating their customers badly? You have to ask yourself the question do I want a pro or some yahoo with a hook on his pickup and no insurance.

The guy running the show over there is one of the biggest scam artists I have come across. I can "hypothetically" confirm with Fred above about this company having no insurance.. Having these people tow you vehicle is a liability on the customer, as from my understanding they're coverage is on and off depending on the head honchos temperament. I have no clue how these company maintains it city permit..

All of that is fine, Just tell the customer what the cost is before you hook up.
