Hey Chris Mance and Dr. Dyer how come Gainesville Times hasn't done an article on how you are screwing a kid over because you want to have a first with the other one? One of the man examples of how you don't have your crap together!

Giving Honor where Honor is due! I am embarrassed to know that my beloved Gainesville High is operating on a level of hypocrisy and prejudices that shows an obvious plot of Racism! What? Is Gainesville trying to hold on to the embarrassing record of never having a top seeded candidate for the title of Valedictorian be Black? I would like to know where the Board members stand with this? Is this still an elected Board? Remembering my High School days are bitter sweet but I would like to share a story that happened to me in high school. I was quite the opposite of this young man in this story. I graduated GHS in 1982 under the esteemed tutelage of Curtis Segars. It was near graduation and those who were on the border line of not graduating die to low GPA"S were ca;;ed to a special meeting and warned. A letter was sent home to the parents as well. After a 'strict' talking to and a firm "you'd better straighten up" from my English teacher Ms.Susan Dodd. I highly ignored my parent's warning and teachers alike. When the final calculation was made, I came up short with my GPA adn was not able to march with my class but rather had to finish make up work in the summer before receiving my diploma. My parents had eagerly awaited 12 long school year to watch me walk across a stage and receive an honor. I cried really hard after the decision was made and was only able to come to grips with it until a heart to heart with Ms. Dodd. "Couldn't you have given me a lousy 2 points so I could have passed the class?" , I asked. I thought about it she said, but I decided to cover your name, present you as a faceless student to my peers and asked their opinion. All of them unanimously said that it would be a tragedy to place an honor on teh individual if they had not earned it. So the decision was made that I would not march but would receive my diploma once I met my requirements. I later ran into Ms. Dodd at a family restaurant in Gainesville. I went up to her and gave her a huge hug. i had just graduated college and wanted her to know that it was a life long lesson that she taught me. Just as it would have sent a wrong message to me to have marched when I had not earned as it is for the District to withhold such an honor hostage less it be shared! I adjure the people who can see to open their eyes and LOOK! Call and email your School Board members. The District(Superintendent) should answer to the Board and YOU the people elected the members of the Board...right?

There is so much more to this then race. And I'd Cody's mom wants the truth to come out then release Cody's grades like the other student did. They should he had all As. Why are you refusing to do the same? Because if you do then you know Cody should be grateful to be co-valedictorian.
