This place she is talking about is coming from Aqualand Marina you go under Browns Bridge and go left and not far after that. I still am not sure I believe all this.

One alligator! In Florida the lakes are lined with them. The chances of getting hit by lightning is greater.
The point here is........People who visit this lake regularly should be aware of ANY possible danger. Would you get out of the lake in a lightning storm? Aren't you glad at some point in your life someone told you that lightning and water was not a good combo?

Yes, these directions are correct.....1 SH is about 3-4 maybe 5 miles from Aqualand Marina.

I spoke with Mr. Gurr and read his article today. DNR is quoted as saying that knowone has reported seeing an aligator on the shore....This is NOT true....We called and reported seeing a gator on the shore last month. We are very careful where we, our children and our dog swims in the lake now.
(Also, i am not the Brooke that saw an aligator at Aqualand Marina.)

you need to call the cops to report this and animal control if they are neglegent about the problem

6-17-07.....My husband and I saw an alligator on the shore of Lake Lanier located at 1 SH. We reported this to the DNR only to find out that they had "several reports last year but this was the first one this year" Said that they would send someone to that area. Since the DNR didn't seem too concerned, I thought I would try to get the word out. This alligator was not in the water when we first saw it; it was up on the beach. It ran into the water as we got closer. It surfaced 5 or 6 times as it left the area.(Only the nose and eyes were visible) I know this seems hard to believe, but we saw this and wanted everyone to know.

We saw what appears to be an alligator too over at six mile creek...we actually got it on video...it is pretty hard to see, but i think it is clear that the only thing it can be is an alligator...

in July,"03" while taking a break around 2:30 one wed. afternoon in the cove behind dockside grill, I was doing my usual, fishing with bread when I saw him, at least five feet long. he, sufaced in the shallow water for maybe 3 mins. I threw my line over, and he quietly went under. I always refer his name as Harry.

it would of had to be transported to this area.possibly an illegal alien poached it from florida and brought it here.they have inundated this area with crime.

The Georgia Bulldogs football team has just been ranked #1 in the pre-season coaches poll. I think this gator may be a spy from you know where. I've heard rumors that he ate UGA, and it was covered up.

Ladies and Gents,

The alligator is only 3 feet long. Dept of Natural Resources will only go after it once it reaches 4 feet. At 3 feet it is still considered a spectator issue as it can not hurt you. It can however small pets. My recommendation is to not torment it nor try to catch it as you will only make it hide in deeper waters or more secluded coves. Best thing to do is to call DNR everytime you spot it and let them handle it. Eventually DNR will get tired of the calls and do something about it (maybe). If they do not resolve the situation i recommend calling the Corps Engineers and let them handle the situation.

I say we trap that gator and let him loose at Old Federal park on the weekend. No illegals on the beach and shorter wait at the boat ramp.

You are full of lanier mud my friend.

At two feet if handle incorrectly it could easily cause penetrations in the hands or feet and damge to facial areas.

At three feet seriuos damge can be done to hands, feet arms and lower legs.

At four feet you could lose digits, toes and if caught just right in the neck could die.
