Okay...so my question is this:

The kid is 3 yrs. old. He set fire to his house with a lighter...and the NEIGHBORS ran over to try and rescue him??? Where the hell was mom or dad???

i dont know if they updated the story since you guys posted but it says the grandmother was watching him along with his brothers and sisters.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I feel for the grandmother the most- i couldnt imagine being at fault for losing my grandchild.

did any of you read the story?? He was being "watched" by his grandmother and two older siblings. The usual story line will follow: he was only out of my sight for 30 seconds!! the parents are not at fault here, please do not point fingers at them, but there was a lack of attentive supervision that resulted in the tragedy. Sympathies to the entire family, they will need as much support as they can get.

Deepest Thoughts go out to the family. Something like that makes you thankful for what you have . Dont take your children for granted they could be there one day and gone the next. Children are wonderful innocent gifts that need to be treated as such.

find is a gun or in this case a lighter. Poor

like i said unsupervised children, let it be mom or dad or grandma or grandpa, aunt, uncle..ect... they can't be out of site for any amount of time. we read about stories like this and it hurt us all .i feel so bad for the family for their lost . i wasn't finger pointing u shamuck, just staten facts. first rule of hand never leave children alone!!!second rule is never forget the first one!! i am a new grandpa, and i feel very bad that this happened, i just want to stop it from hurtin other families. tragedies can be prevented like this one!!!

I agree with you but then again kids are very hard to keep track of. I babysit and I have to make bottles, clean up, make dinner, run bath water, and while I'm doing this, the babies and/or kids are walking a playing. It's no ones fault, All these ppl could have done is put the lighter away and not left it out. As for kepping an eye on a child 24/7, thats impossible...

I have been very sad,very heartbroken since recieving 2 phonecalls last night about little Ethan.I know this family and have for over 20 years. They are very good people who love these children more than anything. The grandmother and 3 kids were outback playing and precious little Ethan went inside. The grandmother did nothing wrong. This is a tragedy. They will never really be okay again and the last thing they need are negative comments from people who do not know what they are talking about.What they need are prayers. The last time I saw Ethans Daddy he pulled out a picture of his 3 kids.He is such a great Dad and I still remember the smile on his face while he was talking to me about his kids. Little Ethan looks just like him. I cant imagine the PAIN this family is going through. If you cant be supportive at the worst time of someones life then maybe you shouldnt say anything at all.

I read on news4jax.com that his grandparents saw him with the lighter before the fire started. Is anyone going to be held responsible for this???

All I can say is how much the family must be going throuth at this time. It's unfair to lay blame at this point. I know that the grandmother will be feeling worse than anyone at this point. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. He looks like such a beautiful child. God bless you all in this time of need.

His mother seemed not that upset. If that happened to my child. I would be end up in the hospital because I couldnt handle it. I will be in shock and non stop crying! grandmother should be arrested for neglect! She left him alone in the house. He was only 3!!

This is truly a sad story, i know with my three year old, if i cant see her or hear her, i know she is into something she shouldnt be. you cant let them out of your sight for a minute.

The father is my uncle and both parents were at work.
