Has anyone noticed how expensive Helens resturant has got. If I'm gonna pay her prices, I'll just go to Cookeville and get some real food.

I thought she served real food. I don't think her prices are bad at all it will cost alot more to eat in Cookeville and she has some of the best catfish around, I mean all you can eat for $7.75 is a great deal, and you won't fine great homemade pie in Cookeville. We need to keep as much of our business in Jackson county as we can. Most of the restaurants in Cookeville make most of their money off their liquer and beer anyway. Lets support Jackson County as much as we can.

Another McDonald's fan? Or just the same one; would you like fries with that and Supersize it? Helen may not serve what you consider real food, but it is GOOD food at a fair price...why drive 10 extra miles when you can get that right here?

I drive from Cookeville to eat at Helens and have for years. It cost more to go thru drive-thru at most fast food places now than it does to feed my family at Helens. Probably make up difference in gas but they treat us like family and are sweet to my son as soon as he walks thru the door. Thats much better than any big chain place. Stick to Mom and Pop places. Pay the difference! There are not many around anymore and they are trying to make an honest living doing what they love and chose to do! Support the little man dont talk trash. If you dont like it good more seats for us that do! Love you Helens!

We also drive from Cookeville quite often to go there. Helen's has really good food and the prices aren't anymore higher than in Cookeville. I love going there at Christmas time, they have the inside decorated just beautiful. We have been going there for a long time and will continue to.

Shell you are right. All these othe comments are from people who work there or family. The all you can eat fish is not good quality fish and is not the same fish as you would order off the regular menu. The all you can eat fish is a cheaper fish and is bio-watery. They should serve the same fish in the all you can eat as the fish off the regular menu. Their service is pretty good but if the place is packed you can hardly get a refill on a drink. They need to hire more servers. Everything on the menu is not offered at the same time so you hav elimited choices. Like baked potatoes are only available during certain times. I dont know or care who all these people are who think Helen's is good but I bet there are just as many who think it is not. If another resturant with pretty good would go in business within a 1/4 mile of Helen's you would see where all the cars would be parked.

Helen's Restaurant serves good food and at fair prices with always very satisfactory service. I have often eaten fried catfish there, and have never found a difference in quality between regular and 'all you can eat'. They used to have the best fried oysters I have ever eaten away from the coast, but their supplier changed sources and now they are not quite as good, but o.k. The complaints we are hearing on this thread are only the usual nit-picking and whining or just plain wrong. That sort of posting comes from the sort of people playing the 'put somebody down to make yourself feel better' game and needs to stop!

You must have miss read what I said I think their catfish is great ALL the time and I have ordered it when it was not all you can eat and the quality was the great as always. Helen's is not some large chain place and I'm quite sure she can't aford to have people standing without anything to do. The service has always been good when we have been there and it is so nice to go to a place where they know you by name and treat you good. Her place is always very clean and as for not always having whats on the menu most of the time the only thing they ever run out of is their lunch special and it is a lunch special you can't expect to get it at 6 o'clock at night. To all the Great people at Helen's we support you and will see you soon. Thanks for always taking care of us and all the GREAT FOOD.

that's just a loose stool to go along with your loose mouth...you know what they say, loose in, loose out. It's not the food, my friend, that needs improvement, just your attitude!

The food is great non the less, the owner has problems,Major ones.My husband and I stopped going there because the last time we was there, she was being rude and crude to her girls.Let me say as we sit and observed, those girls was running ther legs off,and everytime the owner Carol came out she was talking very bad to those poor girls,I heard most of it,it was heartbreaking, but thats my opinion.I can say that if I was younger and had a job there I would carry a voice recorder with me and once I got enough on it I would take it straight to a lawyer and sue her for every dime she has, then if she did manage to stay open and serve great food,at least she would be alot nicer to the hard working girls in there, and maybe even cheer them on instead of talking to them like they are stupid and hurting their feelings.I hpoe Carol reads this because I have told all my family and friends and they are just as offended, and will not be back in there either, and she cant loose to much more Putman Co. people......Carol realize that being conceted doesnt make you a good person, think about those girls, cause they are best you have ever had.Helens is named after your mom,and your a mom.Its time you act like one to all those girls, they make you money....
