a whole lot of people coming from Cookville and dropping cash in Jackson county for a change.
They can pay for our schools instead of the other way around.

maybe you dont understand how economics work but, unless they are buying their supplys in Jackson county, and spending profits in jackson county, the schools will never see it...

Maybe you don't understand economics. But people coming to eat from other towns to the Bull and Thistle bring $$ into Jackson County. It's called tax revenue, that does help the schools and other things.

Ever heard of SALES TAX?
Ever heard of secondary economic activity?(which generates gas tax & more sales tax)
Ever heard of attracting new business and new residents by giving them a reason to visit your town?(which generates more taxing opportunities)
Ever heard of property tax?

Looks like the local school system needs the extra money to hire better teachers if this is the kind of economic education you received here.

I personally have not been there yet, but can comment with knowledge about it bringing revenue into the county/city. A portion of the sales tax does go to city and county. They also have to pay a business tax each year to the state one for the county and one for the city. This tax is based on the amount of gross sales. They also pay a beer tax each year. Again one for the county and one for the city. The beer companies also have to pay a tax to bring their product into the city and county. I'm sure that there are a few more that I can't recall at this time. So even if they are spending their profits else where our county and city are benefiting even if not one person that eats there is stopping anywhere else. I hope that it can make it. This will be a tremendous help for all of us if they can stay open. I know that this on a much smaller scale, but just think what the Walmart did for Algood. When you have one thing to bring people in others will follow. "Build it and they will come." I have heard from several people from other places that are already frequenting The Vault. Instead of putting it down, leave it be. What is it hurting being there? How many years have those buildings been empty? No one is forcing you to eat there. If you don't like it turn your head.

Hey "Only"... go troll somewhere else. Because you obviously have no clue what you are talking about. I guess if you are right and we are wrong, I'm not the only "dumbass" here. Maybe you should go back to school and learn what economics really are.
And for the Bull and Thistle, I hope it strives on! I know so many people that are driving from Cookeville to go eat there. And not just once.

I hope it does well. It can do nothing but good for the community. It may not be be for some people but hey, to each their own. Just think, if they can bring life to the square, maybe another place that is to your tastes came come in. It win win for everyone.

"bride2be", to me, seems to be the dumbass. Check out the spelling and no spaces between periods and the next sentence.

You might be a laughing stalk of celery but we will not be the laughing stock of tn. Lots of people are coming from all over the area to enjoy the new restaurant which has blessed us by opening here. It fits in with the old character of the community while giving us an opportunity to enjoy something extraordinary and unique. It is the best thing that has happened here in the 35 years since I moved here and I am grateful that the owners decided to take a chance on us in Jackson County, and I hope that you will give them a chance to show you what they can do. Treat yourself to a delicious meal at the Bull and Thistle and I am sure you will feel better about them.

why do you sign your post as 'douche bag'? Are you lonely, or just only? Try to look at the up side, and not be such a sourpuss. At least for the next 9 months we have one of the best restaurants in the area right here at home, and you sure didn't have that in the 'good old days'.

What are oppions and ediots? Who would want to marry an illiterate bride2be? Or does that just mean you are hopeful?
