Governor Martin O'Malley yesterday announced the Board of Public Works approval of $1.49 million in Program Open Space funds for development and acquisition projects across Maryland. via Dnr.state.md.us

The government taxes people then buys their land with the money and takes it out of productive use.
Property taxes go up because the school board has less land to tax to finance the schools.
Is there an end to this that does not force people into new slums because living close to the land has been priced out of their reach?
