I'm Joe's brother. This was not expected in the slightest - a shock to his family, his friends, co-workers and the community he served proudly. He will be missed by so many.

Pat - Thanks for your kind words, Joe inspired me as well.

I lived in the same building with Joe, it's a shock to me also. He was also so friendly and smiling. He seemed like he was very happy and had a sweet girlfriend. This is definently a tragedy and he will be missed!

I heard about Joe today three weeks too late. He dated my older sister Crystal for several years, and my whole family loved him and welcomed him into our family. My condolences to the family, the Farthing Family sends their love.

Michael- I was unable to attend the service but wanted to let you know we had a small ceremony at work.

At noon his line number was called out on the radio 3x. After no answer dispatch signed him off. At that point all traffic was held for one minute as everyone in uniform faced the flag in silence and saluted. A flag at the main campus was raised with a ceremony as well. During that one minute of silence I prayed for his family and for him.

His loss will bring a new program that is being worked out as we speak. To have more of an open door to councils for officers in troubled times.

I myself have been going through terrible times with a divorce. He inspired me and wished we could have talked. I lost my brother at 15 yrs old. All I can say is the same advice that was given to me when I was grieving. "It gets better". Down the road you'll be able to think of him and not feel the pain you have now. I am sorry for the tragic loss. God Bless "This too shall pass"

Patrick,

Please look for a plaque to be displayed from my family on your campus - a thank you letter to the NSA.

I'm proud to know Joe was a part of such a proud organization such as yours.

Michael- I saw you at the funeral and viewing, but I did not get to introduce myself. I got to know Joe last spring when we played on opposing softball teams, and it was there that he met Kellie, who was on my team. Since that time, I got to know Joe very well. He always put a smile on my face when we hung out on the weekends, and I loved when he stopped by my ofice to keep me company.

I think about Joe a lot. I wish something could have been done to prevent this. Joe was a wonderful man, and I miss him very, very much. I hope you and your family are doing better, despite your loss. My thoughts are with you everyday.

I just learned the news of SGT Pushkal's death. We were stationed with him in Germany, and shared many orderly room conversations. He was a good guy. We are both very sorry to hear of his death.

Sincerely,
Melissa and Tommy Moatts
