N.Y. truckers protest convoy planned for June 19th
New York truckers plan a June 19 rally at the states capitol to protest the states ton- mile tax and other state issues hurting the trucking industry.
A DOT proposal to make truckers use Interstates as much as possible and establish a routing hierarchy for their travel.
Following a couple of meetings with state representatives over the problems, Albany police and capitol officials have given them permission for the convoy and to host a speakers rally in front of the capitol.Speakers will include state assembly members and trucking representatives. About 400 truckers are expected, with one convoy leaving Fultonville and another leaving Fort Ann. The local group organizing the protest TCUNY has 7,500 members and nearly all are owner-operators or small fleet owners.

PLEASE take some notes on this, and REMEMBER them when the next school budget and elections come up. This is a SMALL version of what we need to do to keep an eye on the runaway "costs" of a bloated and entitled school district, and teacher's union. Voices must be heard; the voices of reason and rationale need to be repeated. Don't complain to your fellow taxpayer, let the system know that you can no longer afford to throw your money away.
