"It seems like gay students catch a lot. It's already a rough time in high school. Everybody wants to be accepted,"

Well then, keep your sexual activities in the bedroom, and out of the newspaper and schools.
Girl brought this on herself, by throwing it in peoples faces. Not saying being les-bo is right or wrong, just wrong to broadcast it, like some little smart allic.
It's school, go study

When are you going to start telling that to the straight kids? No dances, no proms, nothing that gets people together, this is school, it's for studying.

Then apply exactly the same standard to str8 students. They should NOT be allowed to talk about their boyfriends and girlfriends in class and throw that stuff in people's faces and shove their lifestyle down people's throats. And no way should they be allowed to bring an opposite sex person to the prom or any other school activity. STOP shoving their lifestyles in people's faces !

it was not wrong of her to want to go to a school function at the school she attends if they didn't want homosexual couples they should have not allowed any couples basically the school district is in the wrong what business is it of theirs to even ask is your date the same sex as you!

Totally agree. There is too much sexuality being pushed everwhere no matter where it is from. I have every right to thing that homosexuality is wrong, and I don't need it shoved down my throat like it is a religion. They keep their sexuality to themselves and I will do the same.

Really? So you've never, ever gone out in public with your opposite sex, significant other? No HS dances or proms? No movies? No dates? Never held hands in public? No PDAs?
If so, how are you "keeping your sexuality to yourself"?
Just another religion driven hypocrite.

She should have taken her date to the prom without telling anyone that she was going to.The kids would have laughed and made fun of them and they would have left and that would have been the end of it.She told the teachers that she was going to bring her girlfriend, because she knew that they would tell her not to.It was all for publicity. Her girlfriend probabily would not have gone with her anyway.

Instead, her brave stand will make a difference for countless gay kids in countless schools.

Come back when you have made a positive difference in the lives of others.

Bullying is horrible and there have been countless types of kids who have been bullied through the years for things such as being heavy, stuttering, having body odor or bad breath, being slow minded or for just having an unusual look. It is horrible. Sadly though we are missing the huge point that part of the reason homosexuals are miserable goes beyond the fact that they are being bullied, but that many know that they are going against God. When we indulge in things that are wrong we are going to be miserable. I am obese. Kids could make fun of me which is wrong, however it does not dismiss the fact that obesity is not how God intended things to be and that it is harmful. Just because people make fun of someone for something does not automatically make homosexuality a positive choice. It is indulging in something wrong, just as it is wrong to overeat, to cheat on a spouse or to smoke. You can get paid a lot of $, you can get 10 million supporters, but it will not make it right. THerefore the person is always going to feel tormented. Pray for God's help, repent and sin no more. I am doing that every hour of the day and so far have lost 15 pounds. I have a long way to go, but I thank God that I KNOW I have a problem. I pray for this young woman. "Truth is true even if nobody believes it. A lie is a lie even if everyone believes it." "Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE."

I have never heard a convincing argument to sway my opinion that being sexually attracted to a person of the same gender is a mental defect and should be treated as such.

Brave stand against the prom? Yeah, that will certainly change the world. Eventually, people will just go have their own dances, far away from the raving gays who want to be equal and will never be. She should just fall in line and accept to be an outcast.
