I thought we were bring back the twin city banana festival. By the looks of the paper it seems to be Fulton's Banana Festival. Where's the twin city. Nothing is being done in South Fulton. Why?

Easy, Big One,

It was a business decision...based on where the railroad originally ran...and where the spurs were.

The reality is: Fulton, Ky. was the rail stop, the car transporting and exchange, a lot of the baggage needed to shed weight here.

None of this planning includes anything deemed to be as narrowminded as your recent wandeirngs.

Fulton Tourism is funding the banana festival, south fulton is not contributing money so now it is The Banana Festival sponsored by Fulton Tourism.

If south fulton isnt part of it then they need to get their f-ing rail road shit out of our complex and get their own. South fultons tax payers shouldnt have to pay for it.

Nothing these days, but at one time more bananas passed through Fulton's railroad yards than any other point in the US. The trains stopped in Fulton and the banana cars were iced at the Fulton Ice Plant. As far as fesivals go, it seems that another name would be more appropriate than "Banana Festival", as the heyday of bananas died several decades ago.....but then, on the other hand, what would be a good name for a festival in Fulton? Considering the facelift Paint the Town, as well as the downtown parks, gave to the Twin Cities perhaps Revitalization Festival or Renaissance Festival might have been appropriate this year. Regardless of what it's called, it's an opportunity for people of the community to get together, have good clean fun, show community pride and visit with their neighbors. Kudos to those who have enough community spirit to put their time and effort into it.

Remember when Turner Milk would donate the 1 ton banana pudding and everyone would meet at the park to get some..(and it was good).. or they would have a little parade.. I wish that Fulton would be some more businesses in so that ppl would have a place to work once more and provide activities for kids and adults.
(lost Plumly, Dura, and a couple more that I cant remember, sorry) but these council ppl need to invest and get some companies back in here....

I remember it was hot hot hot outside and by the time the one~ton banana pudding got to the park flies would be all over it but we didn't care!! It was still delicious! That was my favorite part of the festival. 2nd was the parade..sooo many participants it lasted at least 30 min.or more..not like the 10 min.parade we've had last few years!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
