Ok so here is the deal. For some time now the city administration is wondering why we have a lazy police department and none of the officers stay long. With a new city manager and complaints from the officers and public someone is finally ready to do something about it. In the neat future Fulton residents will be asked to sign a petition, 1000 signatures are needed. Once collected it will be presented to the city commission. If changes are not made the Kentucky State Police has pledged to assign troopers to the city to answer all calls and eliminate the need for a city force. These petitions will be in places like Walmart, Pockets Shell and the lobby of the electric company.

Well that's funny, just like the police chief we need someone with an education. The economic development director barley has a high school diploma and how he got that job we all know.

It is funny how KSP has 1 officer on duty covering 3 counties and they committed to has one officer to cover all calls in Fulton. Don't think they would do that. They have budgets to live by just like everyone else.

yeah, that's a smart idea. eliminate more jobs in fulton. just what they need. why not find the source of the problem instead of cutting everyones throats? KSP is short of manpower now. how in the world do you think they're going to be able to afford more officers in the area? what do you think the response time is going to be when KSP is having to respond from some other county??
answers please

I would like to know how someone who has felonies becomes a police officer. ANYONE have A clue? I mean seriously they let anyone just hold a badge and give them a gun and expect us citizens to feel safe when someone who has felonies (swept under the rugs evidently) protect and serve this county.

Well apparently all felonies turned to misdemeanors and the chief can do that when he don't want to hire a new person and for the comment of eliminating jobs it was the chief that volunteered to fire two to save money when the city was looking to cut out spending.

You can't have a felony record and be a ky. peace officer. All candidates must pass a state test, which includes an extensive criminal history. Not up to the locals. You don't get in with a felony record.

Wow you people have no clue as to what you are even talking about - talk about getting an education - why don't you educate yourselves on the facts instead of a bunch of "he said, she said" - you guys really have no idea about what goes on in a small town let alone do you really know anything about its officials, hiring practices, and budgets!!!!! It's clear to me that you guys really need to get your facts straight before you decide to play some kind of blame/name game!!!!

It is what it is, and it is Jobless around here, look around even at the other small towns they have something coming in from time to time ,nothing here in the Fulton area,Oh I forgot about the nice parks, very nice and great paint jobs around town, but how many jobs do they create.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Libra

Look after yourself today, dear Libra, because you don't have as much energy and self-confidence as usual. In fact, your spirits may be trailing around your ankles, making you feel wretched and listless. A pessimistic mood certainly won't help you cheer up, and you may be feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or other people's problems. The fact is that you've got things out of proportion, but you'll feel better about them soon.
