Thank you My Friend,
My goal is to have all coaches take the E class and use that as a begining base of instruction.
If you have any ideas about how to secure a PERMANANET HOME FOR SOCCER, or to improve coaching I will always listen.
Thank you and cheers mate!!!!!

Ok, Ill look into it. Certainly the school district would want some traffic on closed schools to prevent vandalism and things of the like.

what schools are closed in LM? What about the adult school? Could put a few pitches on that lot. Houses might not like it much though. Housing development is going to use that lot across alondra & stage road. Very limited space in LM..
Tear down that area where michaels used to be. Put up a few fields there..

Good idea how much did it cost to do the Biola field and times that by what 2 or 3 fields 1 field won't work, and what about maintenance costs we would save the city water costs oh yea no saving there just high maintenance cost. We only need to come up with 5 to 10 million dollars hope we sell a lot of cookie dough. MR Jones your efforts are great but let use them were they help the kids keep doing your training and good things will happen.
The idea and effort for light at Benton would work but isn't the NLMUSD going to expand into the middle field and take away that area for us to use? So if put lights there wouldn't that be a waste and what is wrong with what we have now my kid practices all year round here?

4) Create turf field over the aqueduct behind Los Coyotes.( NOT IN PLANNING STAGES) but it is a good idea.
I know I am a firebrand, but I love my city and soccer the City and NLMUSD have ignored the swell of soccer and that is their mistake.
We have permanently set aside space for baseball and softball it is time FOR SOCCER TO HAVE A PERMANENT HOME.

It's not about proving who's the best, it's a good group of coaches that are committed to the kids of la mirada. They will be fine if they have a good team in place with kids who want to learn and improve, show up to practice, and have good attitudes.

Sig is suppose to be the first step into true soccer.(club). If a Sig coach doesn't have the knowledge AND ability to teach these kids a much higher level of soccer skills the kids are just wasting their time and their parent's money.

Sig coaching is not about just filling a slot and hoping you get good kids

agree.., lmsa does have a requirement that they should keep for Sig. Coach's if they don't then expect to have a more costly rec. season & goodluck trying out for Club. even harder to make those Club Teams

Curently NLMUSD wants to put portable trailers on the U12 field.(FREAKING PISSES ME OFF) There are no plans to Take the larger field on the Santa Gertrudes side. If we were to fund the building of light towers on that field which would include the U8 field. LMSA SHOULD require a memoradum of agreement for a certtain number of years to ensure that whatever capital improvement we put into the field would be secured for futre generations and not simply built upon. That is part and parcle why I get so Angry at the City and NLMUSD, because whatever their new whim is they believe they can simply move soccer around without paying a polictical price. We have areas in the city and the school district which should be designated soccer areas.

SPLASH HAS A HOME (On previous COUNTY LAND)
BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL HAVE PERMANENT HOMES
BASKETBALL HAS A HOME ON COUNTY LAND (GYM)
FISHING HAS A HOME
TENNIS HAS A HOME
DISC GOLF HAS A HOME

NOT A SINGLE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY WHICH ALLOWS SOCCER TO BE PLAYED.

NOT A SINGLE GRASS BLADE DESIGNATED FOR SOCCER.

ALL WE EVER GET IS WE WILL JUST MOVE YOU

DEMAND A SOCCER HOME NOW AND FOREVER.

You sound upset, maybe because you can't play or are afraid of a real competitive sport. Its not nice to talk about when you don't know what you are talking about, so stop the noise and embrace the #1 USA Youth Sport...

The idea of lights in Benton is an old one.
The problems you will encounter are many
1. cost: AYSO had $30,000.00 + in funds saved to put in lights and it wasn't enough
2. Type of lights
A. permenant lights require major groundwork and construction. Which means permits and env impact statements.
B. And don't forget handicap accessability requirements.
3. Temporary lighting
A. there are major liability issues because by day this is a public school that still is using the
area.

There is also the issue of the lights at night and parking issues. The neighborhood homes will rebel loudly.

And then the simple politics envolved between the school district and city hall.

And this is to just name a few.

Not say it shouldn't happen but the obsticals are many.

Don't remind me about how AYSO National stole almost $100,000 from the good people of LM when the city threw them out.

So what's different now. As a parent, I'm sure there saving up just like back then, in fact back in AYSO days it was 40 bucks to play spring soccer, I remember. Now we are looking at around 135 to play and god forbid you wanna play signature, then you can add another 125. Botton line, quit fn saving and spend the money on the kids or else reduce the fees. Fn robbery.
What are they saving for, lights that are never gonna happen, at least not in these kids lifetime.

What club is this? Last I checked club, it is way more than the measly extra 125 for signature! And a max cap of 350 I believe for the season MoST clubs will run you a minimum of 1k. Your paying for coaching! Licensed and experienced coaches, not daddy!

Did the ref's get paid back then? They do now because too many people complained about poor reffig, or I don't want to give up my time to ref. factor in the city charging for field use. Factor in inflation... Gas also used to be 2.00.... It's not anymore (4.05 is ehat i saw this morning) Go educate yourself at a Board meeting. I'd bet they can open up and show you the numbers if your that interested. Then you can make factual claims and not just your own ASSumption.

Fees have gone up. The city has been raising usage fees on everyone the past few years for all the sports because the city has no money. Now I wish the city spent some of that money on the soccer program.
Also does any body else wish there was a different Spring league? I am not a fan of JUSA spring. LMSA should make one and maybe partner with Brea and maybe Fullerton. Just a thought.

JUSA and NOCIL have asked the county border leagues to do just that in the past. Start their own playing circuit.

But as usual there is a strong reluctance to change from the existing programs in these leagues.

LMSA thought about it, but they didn't want to just play WAYS most of the time. And the same for WAYS, they liked the travel.

So basically there has to be a better carrot out there to entice these soccer associations.
