This is what happens when you put stores that sell guns in a shopping mall. That man had EVERY LEGAL right to bring his gun in for repairs. He should be apologized too for the inconvenience he was caused. I found it odd that police "decided" not to charge him. I was there having lunch at the Panda when this happend. It was more of a scare when the police came thru the door with assault rifles and unneccesarily lingered around after they found out it was all a mistake.
I think in light of what had happened just a few days before they may have been on a higher alert. Just like after 9-11 or after officer Kozminski was killed in GR. As far lingering around, sometimes it may seem as thought they have nothing to do but as we all understand the hurry up and wait mentality...command needs to release them and sometimes command staff is VERY,VERY slow!!

There is no right or wrong entrance to goto any store in the mall. We still hold part of our second amendment rights in this country. If you live in MI or most any other state you are going to be around weapons as they are in over half of all households. In order to retain our constitutional freedoms we have inherent risks when moving about a free society. Once you fall into the proactive mind set you have taken away from our constitutional rights and moved into socialism. When you have a large group of people in any environment you will always have a few that do unexplainable things and that is a chance we take living in a free society. The worst thing you can do after a tragedy is go around making "Pro-active" laws. All that does is put the rest of us into a more socialist government setting to deal with. Any law repugnant to the Constitution shall neither be enforced nor obeyed. You would do well to remember this. And for the anti-gun lobby out there keep in mind no country was ever freed by a peaceful demonstration.-Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.--Ben Franklin--
