Yes, lt us pray to the god that allowed a 3 yr old to die such a horrible death to begin with and ask him to comfort the family he robbed the child from...gotta love religious nuts.

There is no real solution to this sad problem , but what we can do is educate the people that get into the water, kinda like a boaters course . There may be some people that may not understand what can happen in deep water. require a license/course or you can swim would help sav e some peoples lives.

The death of a child is a horrible, tragic event for anyone...Christian or not. Despite the pain, many Christians believe that God has a plan and while me may not understand it, we trust that we will one day. And yes, prayer does help comfort those who are grieving. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families who lost loved ones this weekend.

Yes heres gods plan....make a fake person in the sky for those who need to believe in something other than reality and then have them give away there money so that the people that supposedly talk to the fake creature in the sky can continue to "preach" about things that really dont tell anyone anything...kinda like the always mysterious "gods plan" that involves children dying horrible deaths for no apparent reason. Wake up people, the only plan "god" has for you is to give your hard earned money away to scam artists known as preachers.

Too many accidents that probably could have been prevented.Thes accidents are always in the media,I just don't see why people are not more careful.

Guess I'll pray for you, too.

Totally agree with HWC.

On a different note however, most if not all of these deaths had nothing to do with boats.

People go out to these shoddy little swimming areas WITHOUT life jackets or reponsible supervision. You have to be smart if you want to get in the water. Its not that difficult to either a) wear a life jacket or b) not consume alcohol if you are going to be getting into the water.

Why does every thread thats in texas have to start with the "God and Jeebus" people??? Its a tragedy that could have been avoided, but too many people think its great fun to go jump in a mudhole called a lake, usually while drinking, and then everyone is like "Ohh how tragic...but its Gods plan", it really gets on my nerves.

What about the drowning at Marine Creek Lake?

Yea. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and not pinning consequences on some fairy tale unicorn legend.

But then again, there are lots of people in this world who are so extremely selfish that they created a magical fairy tale world after they die so they can keep on living and being happy because they never, ever want it to end!

Its sad, really.

What's sad is the death of these poor people. The fact that you and others feel the need to attack Christianity or other religions because someone merely said they would say a prayer for the families is also sad.
No one said people should not take responsibility for their actions they simply said the families were in their prayers.
Get a grip.

You sure sound like an angry person. I never attacked you for the way you believe (or don't). I simply made a statement about how some people are comforted by prayers. Ease up with the attitude.

Then I suppose we can just agree to disagree.:)

Bottom line, the drownings are all very sad. Being the mother of a 3 year old and 6 year old, I can not begin to imagine the pain these families are going through. However it may be that they find it, I hope they can somehow find comfort and strength to get through this horrible time.

I wasn't attacking christianity, its just the fact that so many of these very own "christians" could have probably prevented their own death by not boozing up, or wearing better safety equipment such as a life vest, and people here pretending that these deaths are part of a "bigger cause" seems quite silly when you really think about what these people were probably doing, minus the children of course - but I would like to know if their parents were under the influence while watching them.

Any death is equally sad, no matter the cause or reason, and I think its a tragedy, but one that *probably* could have been avoided with safety and precaution, versus it happening because its "gods plan".
