I smoke as well, and do the same. They just need the money as we all know the economy sucks.

Follow New York's lead and increase the tax another $1.00......that should pay for clean-up of the butts.

Notice.....if your Pit Bull bites someone....you'd better have some good insurance or you'll lose everything you've worked for.

Just a comment about your Pit Bull.....

Don't worry about MY American Staffordshire Terrier. I'm an incredibly responsible dog owner who is an advocate for the responsble care and ownership for ALL bully breeds. She has never bitten or attacked anyone...nor has she come close. You will never find my dog left unattended in my yard, walking off leash, left in the garage, etc. She was trained with positive reinforcment and is very loved and respected.

Just a comment about your comment, though.

Get real. I'm supposed to pay a $210 fine for littering because I dropped my cigarette by accident out of my car window? I think that's ridiculous and excessive and I will be appealing it. What a waste of our tax dollars.
By accident really? Your just a pig like all the rest

While I understand that yes littering is gross and smoking is too I am a smoker and I was recently fined for this. I agree with the people out there that simply state driving while eating, putting on your makeup or texting is the problem not throwing a silly butt out of a window. Its a minor piece of trash nothing more then what EVERYONE litters on a daily basis or drops off at their nearby landfill . Oh ps that garbage you dispose of and ends up at the landfill much worse for the environment. Idiots. Or if its a pollution matter DONT DRIVE YOUR FUCKING car. Should I be ticketed for driving since that's a major cause of pollution ? I happen to live in Utah which is obviously over ran with religious nut cases and their police. I think this law is simply intact to convert the public to their Joseph Smith bullshit. Along with not sellig booze in grocery stores. If I have to pay a ticket of course I will unless its over 50 dollars I which case I will fight the ridiculous claim. All of you non smokers our there have no idea what its like to be a smoker and have your rights taken away constantly. Be thankful you stand 10 feet away from a person and not inhale "our disgusting smoke". Its more productive than posting negative things towards people you will never know. This fine is stupid and embarassing that the justice system has nothing better to do with their time then to write up real tickets. Come on does anyone watch the news? We have bigger things to worry about!

Nope you are entirely innocent you don't pollute in ANY way. C'mon. Really? If you don't have anything educated to say then get off sites like these. What's even more polluting is the extra cop cars riding around and pulling over to pull over other cars and give out tickets . Car exhaust is more damaging.

You can always tell those that smoke. Those are the ones with the yellow teeth and nicotine coated fingers. Nobody should have to breath your stink. As soon as a smoker walks into a room you can smell him or her.

And yes, flicking your cigarette butts out the window is not only littering but also a fire hazard.
