Wow, you saw all of these things in one visit to Pearland? Give me one example of one major mall or commercial center that is not built around a major freeway in Houston?I am locating my family from the midwest to the Houston area because of my engineering job. I was told to check out Pearland (as it is so close to my location that I will be working) and I did and saw some nice things- decent homes, nice shopping and some not so nice things- horrible traffic congestion and too much loitering by middle aged men in the middle of the work day in parking lots.
It unsettled my wife greatly. We heard alot of loud blaring RAP music and there was trash littered all over the parking lot in front of Target and Khols. In fact we saw a car dump out a dirty diaper into the parking lot like it was nothing.
We felt uncomfortable and uneasy. I have a work colleague that has recently as of I assume 3 years ago moved to the Silver Lake subdivison and at the time thought it was a great fit for them.
They have since really had to reconsider and its a shame. We will have to move elsewhere and I will have to have more of a commute because I refuse to not only never like in Pearland, but I don't even want to accidentally get lost in Houston traffic and drive thru ever again.
I was browsing around online looking for Pearland stories and came across this and it's so interesting to see that I am not alone in my thoughts.
Our realtor mentioned that Cullen Highway and 288 Highway brings down crime in droves with easy get a away from the retail establishments.
Go to this website and do a side by side comparison before you make illogical comments.
You're an engineer? Where did teach you to draw conclusions based on one anecdotal experience that is laughable?
