Is anyone else out there upset about the new trash program we have here? Once a week now and not twice a week and if they see a piece of wood in it they leave it there and say it is construction material you have to take it to the dump. The dump is so expensive here in Alvin that it is truly worth your time to go to the Pearland Dump. And its against the law to get your own dumpster company....you have to go through the city of Alvin to get a roll=off. THIS IS PURE COMMUNISM.

I have a wooded lot that I spend a good part of my life pruning and cutting out dead or dying trees. I cant burn it because that is against the law and they quit taking brush a couple of years ago...they used to take it all and that was one thing I really loved about this town. NOW it will cost you $100 or more just to take it to the dump. I am very disappointed in the changes and it has made the town less desirable to live in. I imaging we will see people letting their properties get full of dead trees and limbs and trash will be thrown anywhere people can dump it. BAD MOVE IN MY OPINION,
Sam

I agree that they should not be able to dictate which roll off u use. I really don't think that would hold up in court. I have lived here since 67 and all I want to do is put this town in my rear view mirror. The code enforcement Nazis are out in force and trying to generate revenue for the city. They have filed false statements against people because they drive by and assume what you are doing then file against you with the state. Can't wait till my last child graduates so I can get the heck out of this town and move MILES away from the nearest municipality. I'll make sure that I am far enough out of this kind of crap that I'll be dead before it reaches my door. Good job Alvin
