Hi,
I am looking for facts related to this person and the murder of her husband. I am told it took place in this town and the court case took place in Alamo, TN.
I am asking because I wonder if the story I heard about this is True or Fabricated.
I find it odd that I can not bring up her name even in google or find anything about this Murder. She was married to Tom Camp.. who is Randy Camps Brother. I can only find info on Randy Camp - I guess hes involved in politics.
Any info is apprecaited..linkis to news articles, personal knowledge etc.. Thanks

She was married to Tommy Camp. She shot Mr. Camp with a shotgun and tried to burn his body in the bathtub. They lived in a small single wide trailer in town. She stayed in there with the body for close to a week, and was even seen mowing the yard and at the grocery store before the body was found in the bathtub of the trailer. Someone visiting the home smelt the odor and found the body. Local law enforcement as well as the T.B.I. handled the case. To my knowledge he was not the brother of Randy Camp.

Her maiden name was Brothers. I knew her a long, long time ago well before any of this happened. I just found out about it not long ago. It is hard to imagine the Beth Brothers I knew in high school and shortly after that doing something like this!! I'd like to know more about it too and yes, it's odd there is no record of the case anywhere. I looked too. I think Beth herself would speak with me if I contacted the prison but, I have no intention of going that far. I haven't spoken to her in about ohhh, let's see...thirty years or more.

I wouldn't mind if anyone has any links to find out what in the world happened in this girls life that she went so far off the deep end. Sad all the way around.

Nevermind, I found her family and I know what happened. Absolutely tragic. She would have got manslaughter anywhere else for what happened. Good god, this area has changed since I lived there. So corrupt.

I am not diminishing the fact that she was an abused woman, but as I recall from the newspaper article that was published right after the body was found, that she also had been arrested for domestic assault against Tommy. Also, Crockett Co Law Enforcement had nothing to do with what sentence Beth got. She took a plea deal of 25 years. I was present at her sentencing. I saw her get up and apologize to the family. I saw his sisters hug her. It was a day of closure for all of us. Because of her, his children don't have the luxury of seeing their father. His 3 grandchildren will never know him.

You can look her up as Lynda Beth Chandler Camp. Also Tommy was not Randy Camp's brother. I know they are related, but not sure how. He had one btother, Mike, and two sisters, DJ and Judy.

This is VERY common because the police HAVE to charge a woman who fights back. Most domestic violence shelters will tell you that if you defend yourself you are going to be charged too. That's no excuse for her feeling that she had to fight back. This all just proves a point, she couldn't fight back without getting charged and she knew she'd just get worse the next time up to and including losing her own life. Finally, of course she couldn't take or risk anymore. I have NO idea what it must be like to live years with that kind of emotional and physical terrorism but, had he been a stranger doing what he did to her he'd have been in jail long term for assault a long time ago, and she'd have been let off with self defense. It's only because we have Victorian laws around something called "domestic" violence that make this different. It should not be this way and it never would have come to this if it were different.

Unless she was bigger than he was by a lot just because she got charged once or even twice with trying to defend herself doesn't mean it was an EQUAL relationship. Had it been this never could have happened at all this way.

This is extremely sad but, it's oh so typical of how the system handles what they call "domestic" abuse. The emotional and psychological outcome of years of relentless abuse can lead to this in a lot of cases. Confessing under the circumstances might have seemed like a better option to her but, still in most other places people do NOT get charged with this harsh a sentence given the evidence of years of abuse against her.

She took a plea deal. She plead guilty and took a deal for 25 years. Both she and the victim's family had to agree to the deal. So she knew the sentence before she took it.

I am sorry, but she murdered my father-in-law. Before I ever had a chance to meet him, he was gone. She is paying for what she did. I am glad she is doing well now, but I have no sympathy for her considering his children lost their father too soon and his grandchildren will never know him because his life was taken from him due to her actions.

They were both drunks. She lost custody of her children because of drugs and alcohol. She had a temper on her while she was drunk and even took it out on her youngest son (caleb)who used to drink with her. She killed a man and got punished. Like others have said she made a deal...jury did not convict her

To this day she is still "trying" to worm her way out of this situation also. BUT, to no avail. Here is a link to the pdf file with the brief where her latest appeal was denied!

ok ok ok.... first of all beth is crazy. i should know because im related to her. and yea he beat her but hell if a woman is man enough to throw a punch bygod she's man enough to take one! like i said she is crazy. if you are getting beat in your home you need to get out. i know it is hard but where there is a will there is a way. she shouldnt have killed him! she should have just got out. she had enough people she could have stayed with. we got a big family! believe me! but honestly. i did not remember meeting her. the first birthday she had after she killed him one of my family members took me to see her. i wasnt even a teenager. i didnt wanna go see her. she was at crockett county jail in alamo she had just killed her husband! why would i want to go celebrate her birthday when her husband would never have another one.!!!!

oh and i think yall left out the part where she put ice over his body to minimize the odor....i didnt see it anywhere...

I worked with Tommy for several years and the Tommy I knew was a good guy, fuill of laughter. He and his first wife divorced during that time and it definitely impacted Tommy deeply. Beth, the psycho, came along and had a terrible affect on Tommy. I believe they met at the local watering hole where Beth waited bar after her release from jail or prison from another charge. Tommy was not perfect, but Beth was darn crazy. She scared the crap out of me several times. I am not sure what went on in court, but Beth belongs behind bars. Tommy had two kids and Beth had no right to rob them of his laughter, for it was truly contagious. Rest in peace Tommy.
