Has anyone else noticed that the walmart shelves are not kept stocked very well? I for one am tired of trying to hunt for something only to find the shelve is empty. It isn't always a fast selling item....it could be a can of salmon or a bottle of juice... Heaven forbid you might try to find a worker to ask for help in the grocery dept. The other depts you can usually track someone down..but the grocery section is terrible . They seem to think they have a monopoly and they do what they want. They seem to forget a lot of people still like Witschey's

I totally agree with you. There has to be the biggest group of losers in the entire state working at the New Martinsville Walmart. They have us over a barrel and they know it.

So very true. The management at that store just doesn't seem to know how to keep things going.
Then you start liking a product and poof it's gone never to be seen again.
Totally dislike that place. I try to get most of my groceries at witscheys.

By the way, this is the quietest forum I have ever been on. Do the people in this valley not have an opinion about anything??????

well you have to work there to understand what is going on. i have worked there now for 7 years going on 8.the company keeps changing and expecting more with less people. I am not taking any sides i am just saying there are not enough workers anymore. I am grateful just to have a job still.i have seen many people come and go.

Is that why the workers seem so miserable and unhappy?? I would think they would try to please the customer rather than being nasty. Ok so the numbers are down is that any reason for empty shelves and unhappy people??

No! The associates should be helping every customer one by one. I understand that alot of the associates are unhappy but they should never take it out on the customer. I thank anyone that shops there and try to help them in anyway i can. However i am a backroom supervisor and rarely see the salesfloor.I am in charge of all the freight getting unloaded. Our store is adjusting to a new system that looks at our onhands of items and tells us what to pull to the floor. Our consumable items sell so fast that its hard to keep everyone of them stocked, and when you cut back the people it doesnt help. You the customer are the reason i get paid and everyone working there should be taking care of the customer. So thank you to anyone who shops there and if you get a nasty associate then tell someone working there you want to talk to management.

I had an experience a yr ago with a clerk from the hunting section who tried to cut material. He was extremely rude and verrrrrry slow. He was so smart mouthed I asked for the manager once he smarted me off and said"you wanta manager?" Well, long story short the asst. manager came while the clerk quickly tried to smooth everything with the asst. manager...finally I told my side and the manager just looked at me saying nothing. I mean he literally just stood there dumb founded. No apology even after he saw and heard the clerk being rude. NOw the clerk still is working there and is as rude as ever!!!! Sometimes the management is a complete waste.
I agree there are a few checkouts that are helpful... but, not all . Some fling your bread and turn a box of pastry on its side till they are smashed together and never give it a second thought.
Oh, I have a thousand stories to tell. Overcharging is a big problem as well. One price on the shelves another at the checkout. Program computer people need a refresher course.

well i know some associates that have been fired for treating the customer wrong. I wish they understood that the customer makes our paychecks. There have been times when customers have cussed me out and treated me like dirt but i still try to help them out. As for the pricing being different on the shelf and when you go to check out this is because a price change has occured and the associate confirming the price change hasnt printed a new label. This has been a ongoing problem. I know our walmart is far from perfect but i have seen other stores that are way worse. Especially if go into the more rural areas.

If you guys want a story, I've got a good one. Nobody ever talks about the Co-Manager having affairs and sexually harassing other hourly associates. Nobody ever talks about the stuff that goes on behind closed doors or off the clock, they just wanna worry about making sure that they are getting the biggest bang for their buck. Next time you are in the store, ask a salary associate or an office worker in the back if the couch is still in the manager's office. And, when you see an associate that looks like they are having a bad day, cut them a little slack because just maybe they are dealing with the fact that most of the employees that they are taking orders from got to where they are the wrong way.

First off, there is no need to put down the people that work in that store. I know for a fact that most of the people that work there actually know the meaning of work, and just because you might not have had to work a day in your life, doesn't mean that you can put people down that have to work for a living. Not everyone in that store is corrupt, and if you do work, you can't tell me that you are Rainbow freakin' Brite going to your job all bubbly and bouncy all day long, so there is really no need to comment on that. And just because you are not God's gift to women dosen't mean that you have to be so jealous of anyone else in there, associates or customers. So, I think from now on if you are going to find your balls long enough to write something, then make it worth everyone's time.

That is just the problem with Walmart the workers are never bubbly and bouncy (in fact they have even taken the bouncing smiling face from their commercials) speaks for itself. A few of the workers are helpful, but not many. The truth is..the truth and I'm not going to sugar coat what I think of the workers. Some goof off like they were in kingergarten while others look at you as if you spoke another language. Which group do you fall in since you seem so defensive to what I said?? I have seen cheese packages tossed from on corner to the next as though they were on the playground. In the deli I actually saw one clerk throw a ham from the slicer to a woman standing at the table near the bakery. Bad catch and it fell on the floor .... picked up and put on the table as if nothing ever happened and by the way it was not wrapped. Now defend that kind of work.
