Thinking of moving to island

I am interested in moving from the East Coast to the West Coast, and have a potential job at Friday Harbor. We would like a community atmosphere and warm weather, good schools and the usual stuff. But the weather is a big deal and I would like to know how warm it gets there and how long do you experience that weather. Its a quick move and I have been researching the area but do not know if the warm weather peaks at a different time or not. It is the middle of July and the weather is below 60 and raining. Could someone clarify for me?
