Give it a chance. Don't feel comfortable without a hat and tank-top.

I know the owners and honestly they may seem as though they are not laid back but they are more laid back than alot of people i know. Just give it a chance the owners are really alot of fun to be around and they started the business for their daughter it was her dream

I when I was younger I watched the owners 2 sons, they seem like really nice, hardworking people. When I was up last summer my Wife and I ate there, the food was good and reasonable priced compared to similar resturants. It's good to see it turned into more than a run down bar with food nobody should eat. We took over the bar one night overly intoxicated and the employees were patient with us, served us our drinks and were very respectful when asking us to leave at closing time. I would recommend giving it a try and not getting sucked into the too uppity for Stockton BS. It has also given some of the local people a nice place to work, why not support that?

The resturant is pretty good and it was packed when I was there. It was mostly people from the institution. If they can make it through the winters chautauqua seasons will keep them open, there is a lot of money there.

I actually work at the hotel and the people are work with are very nice and laid back. I don't believe that anyone would call anyone "uppity" from the hotel? Strange

Standoff in Hanover

Police, fire officials called in over dispute involving family

A Hanover Road resident was taken into custody Friday after a three-hour standoff with Chautauqua County’s SWAT Team. The man had been holding his wife hostage at gunpoint. The suspect’s identity was not released as of press time.

1/12/2008 - HANOVER — A three-hour standoff at a Hanover Road residence ended in an arrest without injury.

Friday evening the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department received a call to respond to a residence on Hanover Road. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an unidentified individual holding his wife hostage at gunpoint.

“We dispatched a car there and discovered a man armed with a long gun holding his wife against her will,” Sheriff Joseph Gerace said.

Once there, the standoff ensued between local law enforcement and the armed individual.

Eventually, the man released his wife who was taken to safety by the deputies present. Deputies were later able to convince the man to come out and the standoff ended peacefully, Gerace said.

The suspect was taken to be arraigned and subsequently incarcerated.

Chautauqua County’s SWAT Team headed up the negotiations.

State Police and the Chautauqua County Haz-Mat team were at the scene. The Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department was also on hand and provided an ambulance on standby.
