There was no fire, and while the photo doesn't show the propeller (if the blades are bent straight back, it means the engine wasn't running), it looks so far like the plane just ran out of fuel. An earlier posting that implied it's the airport's fault, because the beacon wasn't turning, is misleading. This airport is locatable by radio direction finders, which a plane like this likely would have had. I doubt that a beacon would have saved this guy.

One thing not mentioned is the Whipstock Whoosh. Anyone that has spent alot of time in the woods up there has probably heard it. There are some crazy air currents in some areas of Whipstock. I never talked about it until I had a friend sitting next to me when it happened. Very eerie.

Our police, rescue, emergency responders, and volunteers did us proud, and spoke so well on TV. I'm proud of all involved in this rescue mission and offer my sympathy to the family of Mr. Weiss.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Scorpio

This is not the easiest day for concentrating on what needs to be done, whether tackling those Christmas cards and letters, writing out a list of jobs, or getting on with other urgent work. Mental activity seems to be blocked, as Mars is slowing and Mercury is under cosmic pressure. Take some time out for meditation, or reflection, and let your subconscious do the work.
