Are you handicapped? Is that a service dog? These are the only questions a business can ask an individual with a dog entering your business. Unfortunately Frenchie’s Conoco Station in Frenchtown is not willing to understand our State and Federal Laws regarding service animals. On two different occasions I entered this business and had all of employees yelling at me, only animals with service vest were allowed in, even thought my dog had his service vest on the yelling continued! Per the law, they are not required to have a vest on, show a license or ID cards. When I spoke to Joe the manager on the phone his first question to me was “What is your handicap?” OUCH, and when I told him he was violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by asking this question. I was told,“I should go else where to do my business and stop harassing his employees! All employers should know these laws and train their employees to know these laws, please visit www.mt.gov search “service animals” and TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES!
