What an idiot.....NO Parent can STOP their teens from smoking, drinking, or doing drugs ...if a teen is determined to smoke they will find a way.Peer pressure is alot stronger than parental pressure at that age. A Parent can try to discourage their teens from smoking, teach them the effects/health hazards...but punish the parents if their kids smoke...that's ridiculous.I'm sick of these people who seem to think they know how to raise PERFECT kids....I do believe a parent should do the best they can to instill self worth, morals , and values into their children...but OUR SOCIETY has taken away alot of parental rites, and yet demand that parents " pay the price" for anything and everything that our teens do. Try to rememer back when you were a teenager....Did you do EVERYTHING just as your parents wanted you to do?

I wonder if your child or you even listened to everything your parents said. As a teen myself I can say I do none of the following but Peer Pressure sure doesnt help any kids especially at the age 16. No matter how hard parents try and how much they talk most kids trys it or live on it. My parents discussed all of it as far as I can remember and just so happens I have friends and a boyfriend that doesnt do nothin like that. But some kids arent as lucky and have the pressure on them all the time. What can parents do?? All they can do is talk to their kids and try to make them understand. You cant punish the parents for something that they cant help in this world. It happens all the time. ARE YOU GONNA PUNISH THE WHOLE WORLD??? If SO good luck with that. And its not just Ingrams its alot of places that sells stuff and if they dont sell it they get there legal friends to buy it for them. I mean come on kids have connections and will do w/e it takes to get what they want. Realize that kids are kids and you cant stop that you can help prevent it from happening.

Are you for real??? Smoking DOES NOT lead to drugs, drinking,or getting PREG. at 16!!!Everyone that smokes does not do drugs, drink,or was PREG. at 16 or any age under 18!! And if you believe it does, then YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!OH, and by the way, a person CAN get lung cancer even if they have never smoked in their life!!!!

No offense but it is illegal, I believe. Medical bills may become an issue. The kids are being taught that they don't have to be law abiding citizens. What other law is it okay to ignore?

Everyone knows the hazards of smoking....period...we don't need lessons on that issue...if a minor child wants to smoke cigarettes..they will find a way to do it...regardless what the parents say or what the law is about buying cigarettes. I'm not saying it's ok...I'm saying I don't believe the parents should be " in trouble " if their teenager smokes unless the parent is the one buying the cigarettes for them. And GOSH....You are an idiot!! You must live in a perfect world with perfect children cause you must be a perfect parent....Two of my three childen smoked cigarettes when they were teenagers....are you saying that makes me or my kids SKANKS ???? And what's this crap..." if they smoke they f...for sure? What's wrong with you....did you run out of your medicine or what?

It is hard for a parent to make them NOT smoke. When I was a teenager I done everything my parents told me not to. Parent please talk to your children... thats all you can do. I have a young child and I hope and pray everyday that she dosent do half the things I did. Some things I can stop, but most I cant. I will talk till im blue in the face trying though.
