Another bush problem that was so bad no one could straighten out the problem
Hostess filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2004
Business Summary
Hostess Brands, formerly known as Interstate Bakeries Corporation, is a leading wholesale baker headquartered in Irving, Texas. It has 39 bakeries and approximately 21,000 employees. Hostess generates revenue through sales of baked goods to supermarkets, mass marketers, and convenience stores in the US. The privately-held bread and snack food manufacturer also sells directly to consumers through Hostess Breands retail bakery outlets. The company’s brands include Twinkies, Wonder, Home Pride, Hostess Fruit Pies, and Ho-Hos. Hostess filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2004 and emerged as a private company in February 2009. In January 2012, It filed for its second Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The privately-held packaged goods confectioner was burdened with 372 union agreements following its post-2004 bankruptcy restructuring led by Ripplewood Holdings, which led to Hostess' second bankruptcy filing. As of January 2012, 83% of Hostess' 19,000 employees were unionized. Founded in 1930 by Ralph L. Nafziger, Hostess Brands is headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Actually, you got it wrong there "blame it on "Bush" Obama supporter" - the closing was because of workers going on strike which goes back to the Unions - Obama Supporters

Todays News 11/16/2012

"The company (Hostess) had warned employees it would move to shut down its operations and sell its brands if striking workers didn't allow plants to resume normal operations by yesterday evening. The deadline passed without a deal.
Hostess said the nationwide strike crippled its ability to make and deliver its products at several locations.
Employees ave been on strike since November 9, when the Lenexa, Kansas workers walked off the job.
More than 450 employees in Emporia have been walking the picket line since November 10.

Hostess runs up a big debt to places where they buy their ingredients to make their products, then they file bankruptcy. It does not have anything to do with the president. If you won't pay for the ingredients, why would you want to make a satisfactory deal with your employees. Now,i for one like hostess products and they have to have made money selling them,I believe this all boils down to poor management on hostess part.

Don't blame the union for this mess. ALl they are doing is helping the employees. The problem is two fold, the owners being greedy and the president. Think about it folks. If you are going to be taxed more and you are greedy who is going to suffer? Your employees. You will not pay them as much, and you will not be getting as much profit as before. Then that results is less money being spent on everything including the necessary things of life. It is just one lousy cycle.

When anyone goes to the grocery in this tough economic time, most people do not buy Hostess products. Instead they buy the off brand because it is cheaper and because of their budget or they buy no snack cakes. Plus Hostess cannot compete with non-union companies. Unions CRUSH manufacturing!

I just get so tired of so many Americans blaming our hero president for everything. He is the best president the united states has had. I have been out of work for over 3 years ...sure I have had job offers to me, also wanting to pay less than what I could draw in food stamps and welfare ... we have a medical card and me and my wife and 4 kids get an allowance of 743 dollars a month on our card... I think Mr Obama will try to get food stamps raised for us struggling families .... I mean its better than what I would make if I had took one of the low paying jobs, but it takes alot to feed 6 ppl in a household ... but our president will get us help...we made a good choice reelecting him.

No..I haven't considered working 2 jobs or asking my wife to work. We are both in our late 30s and we aren't going out here at our age trying to make minimum wage at something that they're just going to use us you fudge nut. We have a medical card, we get 750 dollars on our food card and free cheese and eggs and milk .... yes we need a raise on our card ...just like you like to get a raise at your job...what makes us any different than you? I think with a family of 6 the food allowance should at least be 950 to 1000 dollars a month. I think the government can do a little better than what they're doing.... I know that they're not hurting any.... I would like to see us that are on welfare be able to use our card for gas and eating out in restaurants too. And no one said the government or Obama was my baby's daddy you Jack ass....but I also think its time for the unfortunate ppl to finally be treated fairly. We have needs like everyone else..... why would it hurt to maybe tax a little more from the working ppl and give that to the less fortunate ....they wouldn't even miss it that much out of their check a week.... no one cares for the low man ...its sad.
