John Rhodes, being a deacon and sunday school teacher, should have remembered the commandment, "Thou shalt not steal". Circuit Judge Goodwine should remember "separation of church and state". If former Bluegrass director Michael Gobb and the others who pleaded guilty are christians, they should go free too. Fair is fair.

John Rhodes, financial director of Blue Grass Airport, engaged in a scheme of systematic theft over a period of years, was sentenced only to a conditional discharge with unsupervised probation.

He did not lose his job, he threw it away in pursuit of his true passions, greed, deception, and theft. To consider that Rhodes is a deacon and sunday school teacher in determining his sentence is outrageous. While he was stealing he was both a deacon and sunday school teacher. This is a good example of playing the Christian card. The judge was wrong to inject religion in Rhodes's sentencing.

John Rhodes deserves to be in jail, the criminal that he is. If he got any Bible training when he was growing up, evidently it didn't leave any impression on him.

I wonder what hie pious father Buddy thinks about his son's criminal behavior? Oh Yeah, I know. His son was forgiven by the Lord and now he is back in God's graces. Sure! The only thing John Rhodes is sorry for is that he got caught.

If I ever have to be in court, I hope I get Judge Goodwine, that way I can play the Christian card and get off scott free.

Whats done is done, they are the ones that have to answer for their wrongdoing. Just move on and forget about them.

Look, poor, snot nosed drug laced uneducated thieves are sitting in jail all over this country while the educated, thieves, drug lords, upstanding family, christian snobs are going scott free, we need to fix our justice system. Money, and community status should not play in the court system, but it does!!OJ, and John are prime examples.

It is such a shame that people like that who play the Christian card get out of trouble. It's like they keep their Christianity in their hip pockets until it's convenient. However, they will have to stand before the Big Judge one day and I'll guarantee you they won't be so lucky.

I would have to disagree. She was only said what had already been reported in the Newspapers. That type of media exposure makes it everybody's business. He made the choice to be a thief while trying to deceive people into thinking he was an honest, Christian man. There is a term for that. HYPOCRITE

We all have come short of the glory of god. Our god is merciful and as long as he forgives us, who are we to judge. Yes it was wrong what he did but we must go on and hopefuly people can forgive him and put this behind us all.

Is he sorry for what he did, or sorry that he got caught? How do we know that God has forgiven him? Just because he said so, doesn't make it so. He has a history of lying and deceit. But as previously pointed out, we are not the judge and canno't read the hearts of others. If he truly has changed, we should be able to detect that in his words and actions. He bears watching, very closely. This too, could just be an act.

I don't, but I try every day to observe his commandments. My prayer is that I endure to the end, only then will I be saved.(That's what Matthew 24:13 says)

To be forgiven we can't go back to our former way of life. If we robbed people in the past, we can't do that anymore. Like I said, Only God knows his heart. I hope that he has changed his ways. Greed just caught up with him. If he is truly sincere and repentant, God will forgive him. But if he is just putting on a front, that is another story.

You should know if you are saved or not. We all could say we observe Gods's commandments, but we need to live by them not just observe them. Yes, greed get's a lot of people. We just need to pray for one another. God Bless.

This ordeal with John really blowed my mind.God does forgive,if he didn't we would all be in big trouble.I think honestly what gets us all upset and lashing out is that these people are someone we have put out trust and faith in.But the fact that his brother Tim had the affair with a lady in his church and this went on for over 2 years and he got caught or he would still be on the pulpit preaching and screwing the lady after churchha just totally BLOWED MY MIND!!!!! I had all the trust and faith in the world in this man and I just did not want to believe this.God will forgive him,but I still just cannot get this off my mind....They say a preachers children are different than other peoples and YES THESE 3 SONS definitely ARE..........

we all know our God is forgiving. just seems to me HE acks like he did nothing wrong. maybe the Devil got him out of all his problems and it wasnt answered Prayers from God at all. everyone needs to stop and really think... do you think God is Happy right now with the Church leadership???????
If it had been ANYONE else in that church they would have ask them to step down. The Lord will take care of this in his own way.I would NOT want to be in their shoes....... I FEAR the LORD.
