Glad to see a water park being placed in French Lick. Growing up I enjoyed the old pool at the hotel. It sounds like this one will have the same feel as the old one.

I just hope they keep the price affordable for families, but as long as it keeps the local "riff-raff" out.

I sure hope this area can support all of this. The casino is not doing all that well. They need to do something about the smoke. It is awful. We have a place just out of town and won't be going back to the casino anytime soon until something is done. Any friends that come down only go once and say they will not return. The casino and water park need to work together on these two things. People will not come and spend a weekend at the park. This is a poor area and it needs visitors to survive..

This will be a family water park.

"With more than a dozen unique water attractions in an island-themed, family environment, Big Splash Island will feature a translucent, retractable roof enabling more natural light and increased energy conservation. The development will also have a large arcade, restaurants and a conference area, and includes plans for 300 additional hotel rooms to be added in the future."

Is this like an adult bookstore, or adult movies?

Quick question: does any one know if they're going to better the roads to get down there? I heard there was talk of a light rail train but couldn't find any solid information. Thanks in advance for any serious answers!

According to the company designing the project it is going to have sprayground, play structure, and tipping buckets. Does this sound like an adult water park to you?

"The aquatic activities offered by this resort include the following:

• Four aggressive water slides which include serpentine and bowl slides
• 360-linear-foot lazy river
• Activity pool with a water walk, floatables, vortex pool, and basketball
• Sprayground with a multi-level play structure with tipping bucket and waterslides
• Whirlpool spa
•Outdoor zero-depth entry activity pool with sun bathing

The Valley of the Springs Resort has made guest safety and sustainable design two of their goals. Project features that fulfill these goals include a retractable roof on a clear panel waterpark structure, Ultraviolet disinfectant systems on the largest features, and regenerative pool filters for a substantial reduction in water usage."

The waterpark sounds like a nice attraction. The area is still "cleaning up its act" after years of economic woes. The wife & I had a great time, however, during our visit in October. We stayed a rental house called "The Quarters"?? right across from the casino and it was nice and convenient. Hopefully the golf courses will make the difference when they open to create more tourism visits...

Dear Jerry,

Sounds like you're awfully concerned about Fecal matter. Perhaps your concern is really more of an obsession - Personally, I believe THOU dost protest too much...
