French Lick water park to open in Oct.

Developers hope to open an indoor water park in the southern Indiana casino community of French Lick by October.

Glad to see a water park being placed in French Lick. Growing up I enjoyed the old pool at the hotel. It sounds like this one will have the same feel as the old one.

I just hope they keep the price affordable for families, but as long as it keeps the local "riff-raff" out.

I sure hope this area can support all of this. The casino is not doing all that well. They need to do something about the smoke. It is awful. We have a place just out of town and won't be going back to the casino anytime soon until something is done. Any friends that come down only go once and say they will not return. The casino and water park need to work together on these two things. People will not come and spend a weekend at the park. This is a poor area and it needs visitors to survive..

I CALLED THE CASINO TO FIND OUT MORE INFO AND I WAS REFERRED TO CALL ONE OF THE DEVELOPERS. SO I INQUIRED AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE FOR ALL ADULTS ONLY. I WAS HAPPY ABOUT HEARING THAT. MY WIFE AND I REALLY ENJOY PLACES WITHOUT SCREAMING BABIES.

Regardless, it will have a tough time beating the outstanding waterpark an hour down the road at Holiday World in Santa Clause Indiana

According to the company designing the project it is going to have sprayground, play structure, and tipping buckets. Does this sound like an adult water park to you?

The waterpark sounds like a nice attraction. The area is still "cleaning up its act" after years of economic woes. The wife & I had a great time, however, during our visit in October. We stayed a rental house called "The Quarters"?? right across from the casino and it was nice and convenient. Hopefully the golf courses will make the difference when they open to create more tourism visits...
