The state's newest gambling destination had the fewest visitors of any Indiana casino last month, and admission numbers have steadily decreased since the French Lick Resort Casino first opened in November. Full Story

It's too bad that those two beautiful landmarks weren't the first ones in the state. They are gorgeous but will not survive long term with the new law about slots at the horse tracks plus all the other existing locations.

it probably doesn't help that French Lick is the most boring town on the planet.

I fully support slot machines at the horse tracks. If weighed against the financial fortitude of Mr. Cook, I believe many more Hoosiers would benefit via jobs, the horse and rider community and local citizens who do not wish to drive 3 hours for entertainment.

Please pass the legislation for slots at horse tracks. You could say it's only good horse sense!

I lived around that area when I was a child and loved it there. Then I came back to visit when I was in my 40's and sence how it had changed I hated what I saw. We had so many good memory of the wonderful country through there. Hope this casino brings life back, and give the people hope. It is worth keeping it alive.

Watch what happens if the slot payout is among the best in the country

You won't be able to get in there.

It's all about winning.

To Kyle

It is only boring if you make it that way. Have you ever here of playing games. There is so much to see. There are state parks to go to drive around and see some of the old towns and find a older person to talk to they can tell you story of when they work hard to make a living and support their familys, and you know I is like reading a book only some one is telling it to you.

Perhaps the attendence is down because the casino SUCKS!!! I went down there and they only had one craps table open even though people were waiting to play and they hardly had enough card tables open. Attendence is down because people realize the casino sucks and they would rather go to Argosy or Belterra!

Jeff Harris,

Thanks for publically speaking for the House and Senate Democrats. Even if you are wrong.

Why would Centaur want to buy a money loosing horse track?

How can a money loosing horse track afford to spend $100 million on the proposed licence for slots, when they are pleading poverty to justify getting them?

Who is Centaur?

I went there right after it opened and hated the slot machines. They were hard to understand and figure out. I was disappointed almost immediately - couldn't play too many slots because they were too complicated. I would think that for the first month the casino was open people would be winning to bring them back, but I didn't win anything and people around me were complaining that they thought the casino was a rip-off.

This place is a hole just like the town of French Lick. My IQ drops by 100 points everytime I drive through Orange County.

Nice try down there in Boon-vegas. Go back to something you know. Here are the problems:

It's too far away.

There are no other attractions.

Security is way too tight - I can walk all over the Vegas strip with my cell phone but I can't take it into F-Lick - WTF?

Amateur hour is over.

"If you build it, they will come" only works in the movies, kind of like Dorothy's red slippers. Now go play someplace else and let the grown-ups get back to work.

I went to French Lick on the first Saturday they opened, and would not be returning. They charged $5.00 for Valet parking, the cashiers were paying out in $5 dollar bills because they had nothing larger. I bought a mixed drink at the bar (rum and coke) which cost me $12.00, no wonder busines is declining!

Hard to get to and small. Can't imagine why so few people.

If the state didn't make casinos be on boats, it would make a lot more sense and increase attendance.

Someone in the legislature must own stock in a boat building company.

Call your state rep. and ask for the state to help ease the pain that these wonderful casino's are going through. Maybe we can give them a tax break.

Recipe for F-Lick:

Take the hotel rooms from a bed & breakfast.
Add the locale and accessibility from rural Arkansas.
Add a large chunk of Louisville river boat.
Throw in a whole lot of money trying to be o-stent-atious.
Mix thoroughly, and hope it all comes out okay.
whatever

If you want to gamble, why not just send them a check and save the travel expenses.
