Wow, Gerber bringing SLAVE labor...these are not going to be JOBS, these are going to be the positions in which no one will take due to the horrible waes in which these companies pay...Yeah 200 jobs over 10 years, let me be first in line...NOT
watch out Ralphy you don't want to shoot your eye out! My gosh, if you can read, you would have found out these are primarily going to be research jobs.

Last I knew, research positions were making a measley $8.00/hr. And if you call working on the line "research", then more power to you.

Why is the Gerber family or any member of it even being brought into this discussion? Because they are part of a very hardworking family who started Gerber? Because some people are jealous of what they might have? Well Dan and Dorothy Gerber worked very hard so that their family could have what they have and those family members still living continue to work hard and to do good things to contribute to their respective communities. Somehow I cant seem to find anything wrong with that. This decision has nothing to do with the family or its individual members so why dont we stop even bringing any of them into this. It is completely irrelevant!
And why all the negativity? In a time of such economic turmoil any jobs are good jobs. There is nothing possibly negative to say about this so I am curious as to why or how anyone can come up with things like that? Just stop being so negative and appreciate this announcement for what it is!

I don't know where you got your information but Gerber Products Company is actually a pretty good paying job. Gerber Life Insurance has awesome workers and supervisors too! I am so excited to see the development in Fremont.

This is just not true - where did you get your information?
It is mostly true. When Nestle took over they brought people from other facilities which caused position duplications. Some took forced retirement whereas others received a pinkslip, per say, and was provided one year to find other employment.

This takes about all the sarcasm I can muster...
Wow! Up to 200...that's right, say it slowly, TWO HUN-DRED, jobs to be created over the next 10, count 'em, TEN years! Assuming we have no possible type of cyclical economic downturn, that certainly is welcome news.
"Blown away" can't BEGIN to describe my utter joy I'm feeling for the people of Fremont, and the entire Gerber "family."
I hope News8 gives us live coverage of the first day of work for the person hired to watch the labels go on the jars, or watches the timer as the fruits and vegetables are boiled.
Wait...I need a moment. I've got a lump in my throat...UP TO TWO HUNDRED JOBS OVER THE NEXT TEN YEARS....someone get me a tissue.
What a country...and it's happening right here, in little ol' Michigan.
Poor PJ, sounds like all your info comes from the news stories on this. Let's just say you're under-informed and call it quits.

Wow I can't even keep up, so Stephanie, was she before or after Christine? 5 or 6 months ago I heard he was going out with Stephanie. Don't even tell me that he has gotten married again since then.
Stephanie is before Christine. Christine is the only one that has had children with Andy(as is known). Christine told me that Andy did not want children, but she had them anyway. He cannot stand children let alone his own. They have to be on the otherside of their home...Anyways..Christine filed divorce (third wife) last year and requested for the judge to freeze all accounts for she felt that Andy was hiding assets w/the buffalo farm. She had to provide proof that he was doing so. It stopped the building of the buffalo farm for a short time (nice while it lasted).

When they have money, that don't care who they stomp over! Their very good at using the system to get what they want!

Ask away....
