I have only been around this town less than ten years but I would have too say that the twins, Leroy and Leross Garza (I hope I got their names right) have been the best defensive players I have seen in my time hear. Seve Alaniz and the Eeds boys where pretty damn good too

We spent a few years in Freer and although the players mentioned were awesome players, I think its takes a team to make others shine. I'll say this though, there was something special about Friday nights in Freer, TX. The community lived for Friday night. I know the kids weren't angels, but when it was time to play, they got after it. Football was a priority. The high school was exemplary, so yes athletics compliments education. It's what united the community. I'm just sad to hear that it's no longer like that. I'm hoping one day that pride and tradition can return, because if you haven't experienced something like that, you've missed out.
