I won't go into much about this subject...but I will say that "Time for truth" is right. Having grown up since the beginning of this period of her presence at the church, I have seen things and experienced things that no one will listen to.

it is no longer necessary for us to discuss this, especially online. we have plenty of means of personal communication with the other leaders but it's time to say good bye to this nightmare and start fresh. that's where we are all at right now.

I really hope she learns her lesson. She has shattered so many kids lives!

Someone needs to get the leaders to step up and help these children. They don't realize that it's not just about what happened between Becky and the victim. Becky hurt these kids spiritually and emotionally. Especially the girls... the emotional abuse she put them through should not go unnoticed.

My friend and i just came across this today. We are both teenage girls who have been through SWAT
and are Juniors in Frontline right now. Becky was idolized by EVERY girl and women leader. No matter how old you were you wanted and craved the attention and love that she gave to her,'favorites'. She has put so much emotional damge on myself, and my fellow students. Still, a year later, if someone says her name i become instantly angry.. I will have this baggage on my shoulders for the rest of my life.. and no one, anywhere wants to help. All the church says to us is, "be quiet" and then they throw it under the rug like everything else that goes wrong at this place..

I think people are letting out their feelings. Its hard to be quiet about it anymore. We can't just act like it never happened. She impacting a TON of lives, and now shattered them. Its time for us all to heal; especially her.

This is a classic case of spiritual abuse. Not only what happened to the student but also what happen when the body of christ then tries to process the hurt and are further victimized and shunned because the church wants to protect its image more than help people work thru th e emoitional and spiritual trauma. Jesus rebuked the Phaarisees for this very reason. Some helpful resources for those wounded in this situation from the abusive church leadership to the people who sit quietly in the pews out of fear and enable it to continue to the abuser and the victim include the following. The Subtle Power of Spiritual abuse by David Johnson and. Jeff Van Vonderren. Healing Spiritual abuse How to break free from Bad church experiences. By. Ken Blue ,Changes That heal by Henry cloud and Toxic Faith by stepehn aurturn. Praying for all those involved to walk in the light find a safe place where you aren't chastised for your hurt and woundedness. This may require finding a different place to go or we just send the message that abuse is ok. Hopefully those involved in this matter leagally took a close look at some of the practices because as in many churches abuse goes unchecked and loyalty to the institution is what matters to them most. And little sheep get devoured....god have mercy upon us all.

You should forgive her and invite her back into the church.
