We just moved here from Dexter Missouri and as we were registering our daughters in the elementary school we were informed that they are required to wear a uniform. We asked questions and was told that it's because the highschoolers like to wear their pants low that the younger kids have to all dress alike, so then by Freeport educational logic, teens are all idiots and canít dress themselves and so we take it out on little kids that do act decent.
I see Freeport is going to have a lot of brilliant people in charge. How long has Freeport been against kids that are different?

I have no idea. I figured it was because of the gang colors and all that. Do the high schoolers have to wear uniforms? I always thought school uniforms were pretty cool, provided the school paid for them... I'm assuming that isn't the case here.

On another topic, does it seem like less people get on the Freeport and Rockford topix than on Dexter Topix? Is it because we have nothing to do with our time down here?

nope the school forces kids to dress alike then makes us pay them to do it. From what I have been told the highschoolers do not have to wear uniforms just the grade schoolers and that is really fucking retarded considering it's the damn highschoolers who are the reason for it in the first place.

And yes I don't think as many people get on here as in Dexter, either that or me being new to the neighborhood they feel the need to ignore me, but you know me... I will not be ignored. My name (and stupid comments) will invade this forum like the Borg!!!!(the real ones, not the Swedish)

I agree, I have two kids in school here and I am against them having to wear a uniform but I have no means of home schooling and the policy will not change. For some reason the school board is convinced that by acting alike and dressing alike that the kids will be better behaved. I feel sorry for the kids because the school is doing everything they can to destroy any sense of individuality or personality they may have.
I really wish there was a way to stop it but there isnít. Well I guess the parents of Freeport could make a stand and put a stop to it, but Freeport is too scared of the school board to do something like that, so instead they will cower in their holes like trembling rodents.
