This is a press release put out by the developer and their attorney.Notice that the story has no author at the heading.BuSiness Wire:First no land has been taken by the county and the ploy at the end of the article stating that; Jolly Bay now finds itself in the position of having to sue the county for millions of dollars to protect their constitutional rights at the expense of tax payes,is just an attempt to put pressure on the Board of County Commissioners to come back to the table.Even a child can see that.As far as ensuring the compatibility of the area,if you call a 120 foot tall condo,40 spaceR.V. park and 14,000 square feet of retail on an 18 foot wide road with 2 horse farms within walking distance, residential structures nothing but single family homes compatible,then by all means go for it Jolly Bay LLC.In the mean time i am sure the county is aware of the tactic being used and will be more than glad to accommodate you.Who knows,they may have something more in store for you!

I look at Rural Village in the Comprehensive plan and the Land development Code and I see that no compatibility study is required. The staff report prepared for the Aug.1 2007 Technical Review Committee meeting says it in writing. The applicant worked on this project for two years with the county saying no compatibility study required, and no height restriction for Jolly Bay, but then they had "More for the taxpayer" must be some politics going on here, because the law and the staff reports given to the taxpayers says this project meets all the requirements.

Setitstraight, sure isn't setting it straight. Make sure you get your facts straight before you rant. And, your idol threats are meaningless if you can't back them up, so don't bother. The county had it coming if they can't follow their own land codes, but then require a developer to follow them for two or more years and say it is ok what they are doing. Don't make developers the whipping post for your antics and bad behavior. Tell them up front what you expect, and stop playing these bad games.
