Don't know how recently you've been back, but recently a strip mall w/ an Ace hardware, new Tom's grocery store, and a gym was built. There are a few new restaurants there also, pizza, Mexican, Chinese, and a few other businesses too. Unfortunately the bowling alley is shut down and for sale. Not much else is that new.

Thank you it's been a few years since I have been back home, WOW,,, they are really trying to fix it up around there, that is great, Freeburg needed some changes, and I am glad to see it growing. So there are more jobs now and more job oportunities, I think That is great.

Well I am a new Editor for the Freeburg Topix, Nice to meet you.

What is there to do around there for teenage kids? Doesn't look like there are a lot of options in Freeburg.

There are a number of places for social things, including just recently opened Healthy Nut Cafe, in the shopping center. It's a nice place to have a cup of java, a pastry, lunch, dinner, wine & beer. And they have music there, an acoustic circle jam session on Wednesdays, an open mic on Fridays, and bands other nights. I just moved here nearly 3 years ago, and people are still the same welcoming, everybody-watching-out-for-eac h-other kind of folks, even for the newcomers. I'm really happy with the school system and the small town feel for my kids.(My 18 year old, as a teen, complained that she couldn't get away with anything because I'd always hear and now appreciates that) Freeburg is a huge family.
