He wasn't really "let Go"...he agreed to a one millon dollar buy out, which was in his contract. Yes, that's $1,000,000.

Brooks is such a crappy hospital. This girl I work with had a stroke and they sent her home, said she had the flu. Thr young ER doc was taking advice from the supervising physician ON THE PHONE. He didn't see my coworker. When she resisted the bs dx, they gave her the choice to wait in the er for 6 hours til he came in, along with the people moaning in there. Avoid oaying for poor hick care and go to Mercy or Hamot unless you need to be recessitated.

I believe that may be depending on your medical situation, brooks doesn't have a trauma center, so anything like that you would be transported, also they no longer have a pediactric ward so that's why children usually get sent to women&children's hosp. in buffalo. being that they serve a larger community they are better equipped than brooks ....i'm curious to see if any major changes will occur because of brooks and tlc coming together under one parent company (it's not technically a merger...yet) also with the new ceo in december.... what were you sent to erie/buffalo for?

The problem is that Brooks has to actually DIAGNOSE a stroke in order to send a patient for care. It's not even that they don't have a stroke facilty, but the young ER doctor didn't recognize one when presented to her. That's just inexcusable. A patient recognizes her own stroke symptoms and is not beleived by the doctor and the doctor doesn't perform stroke tests on her. This poor girls left side of her face had fallen. Sucky hospital!

Good bad everywhere. The problem is no just in our hospitals it's in all companys, businesses and especially the employees.I have problems with almost every bilI get yet alone alot of times when you just go to the store . You get clerks that have no idea where anything is,people not showing for work because of boo boos. And the biggest problem of all 'laziness'.To bad, nobody gives a damn.

trust me, he was let go. The board and the doctors don't like him behind closed doors. Its all a PR move to preserve his identity, but the gambling doesn't really help his image.

sick isn't it, I sure hope the hospital can survive that one. Its real sad. The employees of that establishment really do work with what they got and that aint alot. Its too bad they didn't have that whopping sum of money to get some staff. Thats more than half the problem. You can't blame nurses, techs, docs from leaving Brooks to go 40-50 minutes away and earn 5 to even 10 dollars more an hour.

They may have misdiagnosed her with Bells Palsy. That explains the flu like symptoms that can bring on a sagging face. The likely scenario here is that she was young, had a sagging face, and had signs and symptoms of the flu and just quickly fast tracked her, meaning no stroke workup. I don't condone this. I will say though that people need to quit using that place as a clinic and as an Emergency Dept. A sore throat should go to a clinic or their private physican, not the E.R. where there are cardiac arrests and motor vehicle accidents.

Absofreakinglutely, however most that use the ER as a Drs visit do so with their benefit card as most of America seems to be very much under or not insured.(After your name that is the first question at the ER). A clinic in Dunkirk with Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants would be a good thing, however I do not know if a Physician has to be on premise or not, for licensing and insurance purposes. Clinics are not just for the poor, they seem to do well in Buffalo,,,,Just a thought

Check out how much money Brooks and other hospitals are going to lose due to the Gov.Patterson's budget cuts: http://www.helpyourhospital.org and please sign the petition! If you think things are bad now they will only get worse if we don't do something about it.
