Joe - I am offended by the term, as are probably 95 percent of the women I know who are over the age of 60. How would you feel if someone repeatedly called you "dude" like some of the young people do today? Seems disrespectful, doesn't it? It is especially the case, when people have REPEATEDLY told you that it is an offensive term, and you CONTINUE to do it. VERY disrespectful. Shall I start calling you "dude" or "old man?"

You are one rude bastard and I think you owe the lady an apology! You didn't need to word it rudely, but I agree. He was very rude in persisting so. But I'd expect no less than that from him. Hardly a gentleman, as much as he may protest that he is.

joe white wrote: <quoted text>still can not find it? how does one get arrested for working on the 2nd shift? People don't get arrested for working 2nd shift. People should not drink and drive period. If they can afford to go to the bar, they should have money for a cab. A drunk driver kills themselves or someone else every 17 minutes in this country. If the jerk couldn't wait until he got home to start drinking then obviously he has a drinking problem.

I quite agree with you. I have a sister in law. Her son was a passenger in a car on route 5 in derby some years ago and some drunk went from the right lane on one side right to the right lane on the other side and smaked the car and killed the young man. He was a good kid, she got 10 months county and then out, drunk and killed someone, somehow, that just isnt fair. But, when I think of it, she drives drunk all the time. Once she got caught and squalled and bawled like crazy until the cop made her park it and call a taxi. She was even a member of the mothers of drunk drivers for heavens sake. What a bottle duster. I wonder what my brother seen in her.

I can't wait to read the police reports stemming from this weekend. I drove through downtown at 9pm last night & it was insane. It was the craziest I've seen in years. I imagine that it only got worse. I heard sirens all last night coming from the downtown area and could hear drunk people yelling downtown all the way up at my house on Pine.

You must be joking, what on earth would be offensive about the term "gal"? Honestly i'd like to know. Are you saying that you are over 60 and are offended by this, what would you like to be called, a "guy"? Do you think you are too old to be a gal? No woman I have ever met would be offended by this, in fact most would probably feel more respected by this than most terms.

Ive never ever ever heard the term "gals" considered offensive, but it does kinda show a persons age by using it. I suppose if we were going to use a modern commonly used(amoungst our nations future leaders) term to describe a young woman, it would be something like "Beaotch". Which really makes "gals" pretty classy sounding now, doesnt it?

I have thought the term lady meant a person of some years while a gal is a person of about some more innocence behind her and some more living to do. What you say here is not spelled correctly and makes you look a bit on the uneducated side, but then there is always a rake and a lawnmower for you to go house to house to.

Thank god we have people in our society that know everything about everything like "joe white" you stupid cop you're just like Jason Dirtbag Miller another crooked cop working the system. Were you there? but you know everything.
