You sure dont see that on the NEWS...Why would a prison be any different? The ramifications of what they are doing is totally on thier shoulders. Two consenting adults. I don't think that inmates are able to 'legally' give consent...some kind of human rights thing. I may be wrong. Heck, I usually am!

Turd your right about a inmate not legally able to consent. My comment was directed towards "Yep's" statement about "supervisors sleeping with staff" Which I read as (correctional officers).

Dont matter if it was a male or female officer that committed the offense, the inmate can still file charges on them...which forces the institutions hand into possible litigation against said officer. I will not name the officer that got "busted", there is enough shame in losing your job like that, dont need someone posting thier name on a place like this.

You got it man, I believe in 2010 Kentucky finally made it a felony charge for Officers that have consentual sex with inmates. Thanks to the fiasco that happened in Otter Creek Correctional Complex with female inmates. CCA (Corrections Corporation of America) was running the facilty and they were housing female inmates from all over, even had a contract to house females from Hawaii. CCA staff couldnt keep thier hands and other parts off of them. Big SHIT storm came down out of it, one of the reasons the state reassumed control of the female inmates. Oh, by the way...retired Correctional Officer here, worked both KSP and WKFC/WKCC.

Honestly, I'm surprised that hasn't reared it's ugly head at the farm on a LARGE scale!

But, thats the difference between state guards and contract guards. Slightly more professional. I do have to say, as a bit of a caveat, that I left under not the best of terms. Seems I've got about as much of an issue with authority as some of the inmates! But ive finished my degree and have greener pastures ahead.*insert silver lining*....apparently the man upstairs has different plans for my life! Hat's off to ya for putting up with it long enough to retire! I wish I could've. It could be a decent place to work, but we've got too many testicles and not enough gray matter happening there. I hear ya man! Definetly to much bullshit goes along with the job, never had any problems with the inmates...just with the staff. The only thing that kept me going was that hazardous duty retirement. I also had a BIG problem with authority, but, I learned to play the game right back at them. Can't count the times I was written up, it was a bunch! I was never written up over an thing with inmates, it was always with my superiors. They finally realized I had a better working knowledge of state/institutional policy than they did. Of the dozens of write ups I recieved, only 2 made it to my personel folder, both for telling a supervisor to kiss my ass. Had way to many supervisors witness both accounts happening,LOL! Turd I commend you for getting out of there and getting that degree! I cant fault ya for leaving that place to better yourself. Cheers!

I've got about 8 years total of hazardous on the shelf. Though that would be enough to keep me there, but I got slapped with a COMPLETELY unsubstantiated write up that "they " tried to force on me. I dont know or care if it made it to my file, but I've applied to other state jobs and never got the callback. Guess it did? I better not get any further into this story...makes me sound kinda paranoid and could piss off some folks.

BTW, I think that the collective positivism and fun vibe is starting to take hold. That's a much better statistic than my "cats:sanity" ratio I was trying out! Not perfect by any means, but it's the nature of the beast! Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us!

I know a male officer out there that was sleeping with some of the female inmates on the prison farms and the women officers knew bout it but have done nothing about it.
