Has anyone stopped to look at the new fire staion that is "done" i know for a fact that it is not done the roof leaks the brick edge is falling off the walls leak water also the parking lot in front is nothing but mud is this what are tax money has gone to it is a shame for the firefighters involved to have to deal with a building like this from what i understand this building is going to cost around $500,000+ i know for a fact that for this kinda of money you could build one heck of a metal building that has a bathroom speaking of bathroom there is no bathroom in the new building or drains in the floor for that matter there are no closets in this building So with all this been said i see the tax payers having to pay more money in the future to update this brand new building for example drains in the floor because all of the trucks leak water or maybe we should buy new trucks that don't leak either way you look at it it still costs money and as far as the bathroom yes there is bathrooms in the old rec building but that does not seem real convenint if you are a having a MEETING or classes in the new building would not be so bad if the building were alittle closer together

i would also like to know who was responsible for this joke of a building.

I challenge all who reads this to stop and ask Flip the city administrator if you could look at this building and you will see what i am talking about

When you do look at it make sure you voice your opinion about it to city hall

The New Fire department for Fredonia is a second building to the fire department. The Fredonia Fire department is going to be housed in the rear (east side) of city hall AND in the new building. There are no drains, true, but the building was built with two slopes in the bays so that the water drains out to the east and west. There are bathrooms and a shower room in the back of the fire station at the rear of city hall. There are no need for closet spaces in a bay,(there are gear racks and will be other ways to store all that the fire department needs...) a training room nor a fitness room, thats why there were none put in. AS for the 30' that was left between the buildings, it was a condition of the grant and the distance was discussed. The two buildings could NOT be connected.
As for leaky trucks... I challenge you to find a fire department that has two newer trucks (that do NOT leak by the way) and two older trucks that leak residual water that were in the pumping system... the tanks do hold water.
And whoever said the building was done was WRONG. There are still several items that need to be finished. And through a grant, and what the fire department personnel have saved up over the years, this will NOT COST THE CITY $500,000.
And as for the fact that you could build a heck of a metal building for that price... yes you are right, but this building will outlast any metal building...
If you have any questions or want to see the building, or have any questions, Go to city hall and ask to be taken through the building and ask questions. Feel free. There is nothing being hidden, there are no secret agendas. GO to the city commission meetings and ask questions. I have gone to a few and know who I see? City personnel and a newspaper representative. Hardly any citizens there to comment on ANYTHING. All city meetings are open to the public... its our right as citizens to ask questions... as you can see I have!!! If you want to check up on something as a citizen of Fredonia, you have the right... GO TO CITY HALL AND ASK!!!

You are correct in saying it won't cost the city $500,000 but that money comes from some were does it not my guess is tax payers all over are paying for this or am i wrong as far as the space between them is 5' to 10' still not connected seems that would be more pratical if you were using bathrooms from the old building as far as the floors sloped you are wrong yes they do have a slope to them but not enough to rum water off of the floor

by the way a metal building is just has good or better less mantaniance ( i know i can't spell) the stuco stuff on new building has to painted am i correct and why does it have a tar roof what is the life span of a tar roof i know lots of metal roofs that have been on for a long time that have needed nothing done to them

also what about parking lot looks like a mud pit to men with a pond in front of the truck doors don't fireman usually take pride in there trucks and like to keep them clean
