Thumping (loud radios)

[Stop the thumpers]

Is everyone as sick of the extreme bass thumping that resonates from vehicles driving past your homes? I have actually had some vehicles go past and the bass is so loud and thumping so hard my dishes have vibrated in the cabinets. You can't hear your television, you can't carry on a conversation with someone in the same room, and heaven forbid if you are asleep. You think your heart is pounding out of your chest.
I find it hard to believe that there is no ordinance about high decibel noise. You can call and complain about a neighbor with loud music, but nothing can be done about the thumpers. How can anyone with music that loud hear emergency vehicles? Isn't this a safety hazard?

Like you I believe that something should be done about the thumping. But along with the stereos, what about the motorcycles that are just as loud (the riders have to wear ear plugs) alone with the people who insist on driving vehicles with extremely loud exhaust.

To me this wanting to be noticed for being loud is just a juvenile way of trying to get attention. Seems they have a sever lack of self esteem.

actauly your local law center and officers can use a sound meter and of course we paid for several now but its just to much paper work for them to get their fat a#$'S outa thier unit to do anything about it..Im guessing they only use them to locate Ice Cream trucks and donut shops..chanute will pull you over and issue a citation..if the decimal meter is over limits..

Nope! Just the fact that all the kids can seem to do is get base out of them. Like they never heard of a midrange or a tweater. I like rap and i like subs but when all you have are subs and maybe a door speaker then its just retarded. granted I am more of a rock guy but still I hear all that bumpin' and NOTHING ELSE, all I can do is laugh. Even in the cities like new york if they brought that s**t to there turf they would tell em to take that s**t home by the time the sun goes down and call em all a bunch of white boy wanna be clowns. Even out there they got more then JUST subs in there trunk.
