What do you think of the letter to the editor in this week's paper? Really who cares about how other people live & if they junk up their property . If this person thinks that she has a gripe about ordinances not being enforced, maybe she needs to clean up the junk herself if no one else is going to do it. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Here's a thought; Activist are [ordinarily] not people who just get something stirred up then step back and watch the fir fly. If Linda White is determined that Federicktown clean her act up I suggest she set the stage, get involved, start a coalition, band together the Community. If the Law has a specific definition as to what a junkie/trashy property is don't separate or single out a person or their property join forces with them. Let's be honest, both ugly and beauty come from the inside. It's very ugly to divide ourselves or raise ourselves above another one. So, my example would be this; when I lived in St. Louis there were a Group of people who band together to help folks who, for whatever reason, couldn't take of or haul off [junk]. Some folks that was helped could donate toward the effort while some were just given the charity of having their place cleaned up/off. The Group, as with most things, didn't start with a bang and yes there were those critics. Nevertheless, the Group helped when and where they could. So, if Linda wants Fredericktown to look more like the Street she lives on, promote the idea of "Freeing Fredericktown from Filth, Fraguments, and Feculence." Being a good Neighbor is keeping the noise down after 10pm, but what happens before then is often times the worst. As I've said in the past, I've lived here for nearly 20 years now, I've work with local Charities and the continual theme I hear is that if you have a certain name or association you can make it here. If you don't you're 2nd class at best. Let's stick together, it could very well be that some folks have hit on hard times and could use a helping hand. There were several people who helped me get established here, all of which are not "The Name" people. During the cleanup of the Storm I had a couple of elderly Gentleman volunteer to help get the downed Trees and debris to the Street so the City could pick it up. Both of those fellas won't be in the Newspaper, but they are hero's to me for just pulling up to my place, hoppin' out of the Truck started sawin' and draggin'. One last thing, I think the City could do a little more in the assistance of removing junk, etc. I have a Friend on the inside who told me when things get to a point the City says enough is enough they have cleaned up, cut down excessive Lawns, removed Trash and so on. As you well know when you want more out of something, often times you have to put more into it. A Statement without a Solution is merely griping.

No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manner of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. John Donne

Everyday joe is a contemptible like that of Bavarian effeminate deceit bent on liberal LGBT obsequies whom are tainted in values and driven to change Fredericktown into a St.Louis Kirkwood neighborhood. Linda White and her LGBT friend Dismuke would best edit their hard drive back into St,Louis effeminate neighborhoods and let citizens of Fredericktown live as humans and not pestilent of dishonorable community activists!

Let citizens live as humans? Some animals are cleaner than people. What about respect for your neighbor? Why should some people have to be taxed on their improvements to their property, and others just trash theirs? I don't think this person want to change Fredericktown into a Kirkwood neighborhood; just a cleaner neighborhood. I wonder how you would deal with this situation if you had it in your neighborhood?

Actually I agree with the letter to the editor that she wrote. I just wanted to see what kind of a response I would get on topix. Don't be surprised if she doesn't get a Neighborhood coalition of some sort started. She should start with a petition in her neighborhood, then get the other neighborhoods to sign also. Every neighborhood has junkers. Take the petition to the city council meetings. The neighbors should go to the meetings to , to support her. One person can not take on the whole world, state, county, or city. I will be looking forward to her "movement", and join her.
I for one agree

Hey everyone on this topic. Aren't city leaders elected? Don't tax $$ pay thier wages? I am talking about the Mayor, Aldermen, city cops, etc. If the people elect them, hoping they are going to do a good job in office, then shouldn't they do their job? One part of that position is to enforce the laws, protect & serve. If you speed, you might get stopped and given a ticket. The cop is doing his job. If you beat someone up, you will probably sit in jail. Again, the cop is doing his job. If the city officials enforce the ordinances, then they are doing their job. I think every town lacks in enforcing ordinances; but why? because they don't want to step on toes. Maybe if they leave it up to the citizens to "gripe enough" about those ordinances not being enforced, other people will take notice and band together. Take things into their own hands.? That is what causes violence & tragedy. City officials need to quit "sitting on thier hands" and do their job. If it means fining people who junk their property, then so be it. They are doing their job. The ordinance were written for reasons. Why should it be so hard to enforce them. I agree with the person who wrote the letter in the news paper. If things aren't cleaned up why should I vote these people back in? If my vote counts, show me by your actions & do your job.

Some people are old and can't take care of their property. I think the discussion is about those who just "deliberately" trash their place, not caring what others think. They are physically able to clean things up; especially if they are capable of working outside the home & have kids old enough to help them. Some of these people are claiming to be "Christian". If a christian is to show Christ's love thru their actions, then why don't the clean up their "crap"? God disapproves of laziness and filth, when people know better and don't do better and just want to trash the neighborhoods; I don't think much of them. Love for your neighbor should give t hem the incentive to clean up the trash out in their yards or carports or back yards. What say you?

I don't think you even know what you are saying ..what does LGBT have to do with wanting neighborhoods to take pride in their property. You are just a rambling idiot.! You are just throwing in big words to make yourself sound important...and what you are saying has nothing to do with the subject.!

Citizen; thank you for waiting. I agree with you when you said; "what you are saying has nothing to do with the subject.!" In fact the reason this Topix began at all can be found in this statement; "I just wanted to see what kind of a response I would get on topix." Messy-Junkie.

The Subject of the thread was not even the Subject of this Thread.

This comment was found posted on the Democrat News online section under Letter to Editor, in response to Linda Whites' letter about Junk Ordinances.

Tell me, what is unfair about what she said? She did not mention names, only streets. If you would check out the Ordinances that are on the books at City Hall you would see that her complaint is legit. The Junk ordinances have been in the system for years. These are not imaginations, distorted or sterile values or even oblique opinions, as you state. I do not believe that this person, Linda, has any intention that "ordinances be established" to support her opinions. The ordinances are already established; she just wants them enforced. She as well as many others would like to see the city of Fredericktown clean up their junk that is piled on carports, back yards and front porches. This is not an imaginary view. If more people would get involved the community would look much more appealing to visitors and new residents.

The person who made this comment in response to Ms. White's letter, must be the same person (those who have no respect for their neighbors, or any pride in their property) of who she wrote about in the first place. She at least, was not afraid to put her name on the letter. You didn't sign yours.

Below is the comment from the online section of the Democrat News, posted by someone unknown; because they are afraid to attach their name to it.

Linda White sounds so sterile her opinions particularly oblique opinions around former administrator are so unrealistic. If Fredericktown residence conformed to her imagination and Dismukes imagination there would be no children allowed on the streets or outside in their own yards no one would be able to have any property they own be able to store or have in their yard anything that dismuke or White doesn't think should be allowed. The truth is Dismuke doesn't have the right neither does White to insist that ordinances be established to be accustomed to their opinions. Perhaps Dismuke and White would best move out of the area into a private neighborhood that suits their sterile values rather than forcing everybody in the real world to conform to their distorted values. Those that usurp their authority over others really are bullies.

Oh yeah, like we are all gonna get along and play good. Are you serious? If you see rental property that is junked up, why not write a letter yourself to the editor, addressing the landlords. There is way too much junk thrown around town..people have no pride.
