Rev. Brown had pastored for many years. He and his wife had raised their daughter, Ginger, to follow God the best they knew how. When Ginger went away to college, however, she made poor decisions and abused her body with alcohol.
Rev. Brown tried to reason with her, but his arguments were ineffective. He knew he could pull the money away, and she would have to come home. Instead, he prayed that a loving Christian would intervene in Ginger’s life. An answer to prayer came when a Christian professor named Debbie began to reach out to and pray for Ginger. Eventually Ginger quit her destructive habits and began to live a life pleasing to God.
“There is hope for your descendants,” declares the Lord.“Your children will return to their own land”(Jeremiah 31:17).
When it seems there is no hope and things are not going according to plan, we must remember God hears our prayers and intervenes in His way and at the right time. Just as He loved and promised hope to His children through Jeremiah, He desires the same for us.
Thought for Today: God is faithful.
