Re-enactor on probation for shooting another with powder

Sorry, this sentence is nothing but a slap on the wrist. No one should even consider that messing around with a weapon even with a blank charge in it is just horseplay. Blanks at close range can kill just as easily as a live cartridge. Lest we forget, that powder charge did the damage it did after first penetrating a heavy woolen blanket, AND the kid's heavy leather brougan.
This idiot should have known exactly what he was doing, and should never be allowed to join any other reenactment unit ever. meanwhile, the kid is never gonna walk right again, so how much it that worth?
