If a priest can't freestyle...who can? His boss sez it's alright to let it all hang out. I don't see anything in the slightest wrong with a priest jogging naked.

We agree, at least he wasn't abusing children like so many of his fellow priests are wont to do.

I disagree. The fact that he was willing to expose himself (he HAD to know that there was a possibility of being seen) says a great deal about his character. And, it isn't positive.

People of all stripes bear it all at nude camps and beaches. Most of those have excellent character, in my opinion. Jogging is for health, I believe. Maybe it's the priest stigma.

I first agree that at least he was not abusing altar boys, however, I believe this is the tip of the iceberg as to what lies beneath this unusual behavior of a priest. Having done some manual work for this same man, it does not surprise me that he was found doing something strange. Being a secondary victim of sexual abuse by a priest (who is dead now)and having first hand knowledge of this certain priest's character, I hope he is investigated seriously by the catholic organization. This powerful relgious organization allowed to much harm/suffering to their members in the past to let this go by causually. I, however, do not believe running in the nude warrents having to registrate as a sex offender for life or viewed as a sexual predator--that is not fair; but diffently I do not want this unusual behavior to be dismissed as just ok and he is allowed to do business as usual.

You seem to forget that not ALL camps and beaches are open to nudity. There ARE nudist beaches and camps, but nudity is not welcome on public beaches. This pervert was in public. And, he had to know there was a good chance he would be seen.

As it happens nude sunbathing is legal in Denver, even in public parks.
Nude camps are happy to restrict entry only to those who want the freedom of social nudity. Public nudity just isn't very practical. Then again, too much sun has health risks.
What we wear in public is cultural. Notice the Islamic perspective of the Burqa and veil which views Western dress in public as immodest. This brings up all the religious perspectives and their soul-body dichotomies I find disgusting. Beaches in Europe have more "exposure" than in the US. Et cetera.
But back to the topic. I thought Dan's comments would be the last word here. Nude jogging appears to be illegal in this instance and therefore a high-risk action. This validates the need for more scrutiny.

So, if nude sunbathing is legal in public, in Denver, how does this affect children in the parks???? As a parent, I would be P.O.'D if my child was exposed to nudity at the park...not to mention that it would be a perfect set-up for child molestors.

Sexual activity in public is still prohibited. Sunbathing is not sexual activity. Kids would see nothing more than they might at home--maybe less.
What you do see in a park is something outside your own house and family. If the kids are seeing something new then they have my sympathy. To be a parent is to educate. Anatomy taught at home rapidly goes from curiosity to boredom. Far easier to teach anatomy at home than to teach world history or philosophy or concepts of freedom--but we try to teach many things anyway.
I suspect pedophiles and molesters rather hate to conduct their bad business in public where they cannot hide. Rather than a perfect set-up a park is a good opportunity to be arrested.
Have we strayed far enough off topic yet?

Not everything immoral should be illegal.
Not everything illegal is immoral.
Not every problem is properly solved by the use of force (which is what government is).
This man has to be conscious of the offense he is inflicting on others.

The problem with enFORCing dress codes is "where do we draw the line?" between punishable misconduct and tolerable behavior. For what degree of undress should a man or woman be imprisoned?

Because I do not agree with someone or something does not mean that I am bigoted or prejusice.
