Regarding Mike Fisher's time to be served. I believe the Judge stated that current California law requires that he serve 85% of his sentence, regardless of behaviour. 85% would be more the 18 months. It would be more than 2 years. Not 100% on this information. Tomorrow, January 9, 2007, is the date we all have been waiting for, Mike enters the California State Prision system. He reports to LA court on Temple and will be taken from the court room into custody. It's open to the public so anyone wishing to witness the legal system in action can be at the Temple address in downtown LA at 8:30am. Make your way to the right court room, if I get the details I'll do another posting. I know this is bitter sweet because Mike's sentence hardly seems adequate. Consider that Mike's life as he knew it is over. He prided himself in being a role model and police officer. An experience he can never, ever hold again. He prided himself in how many people he knew in Southern California growing up here. Now all those people he bragged about knowing see him as a real weak, feable minded person. He used to think himself so smart. He is such a simpleton, and really always has been. He just good a faking it. For the rest of his life he'll have to register as a sex offender. For those of you who are dedicated to following his life, you'll be able to track him for the rest of his life and report him each time he moves and doesn't register in the alloted time. Also, prison, even if he only serves the 85% or so, it no walk in the park. California prisons are over crowded. He'll share a cell with several inmates and be in open yard. Just picture him there. He always too cold or too hot. Always hungry, always lonely, always scared. Humilated by his reality. Because the truth, thanks to the wisdom, bravery and courage of his victims, is out. So, I know it is no comfort to think about 2 years or less in prison being his punsishment is so much more than just time in prison.

Judgement day is tomorrow at 8:am 3rd floor Div:47
Support from the Heights, very well put. I would like to use some of your wording for tomorrow. I am asking the district attorney to request from the judge that I get permission to let this scum bag know how the kids and the the families feel, but I have to do it on a professional level, which he does not deserve, but he needs to know what he missed from his training as a peace officer, which are two words. To serve and protect. I have a lot of respect for our police officers, and it's ashamed that one or two assholes like SCUM BAG Fisher tarnish the batch, there are so many of them trying to do their job with dignity. I will be heard tomorrow, so help me God.

Ex-officer gets 3 years for child molestation
LOS ANGELES -- Former Alhambra police Sgt. Michael James Fisher was sentenced today to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to five counts of child molestation.
Fisher, 42, pleaded guilty in late November to molesting two teenage boys. In addition to the prison term, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Luis Lavin ordered Fisher to register as a sex offender.
"You have no more power over anything in my life," one of his victims, now 18, said in court. "You are now powerless, hopeless, alone, a disgrace. But most of all, you are guilty."
Fisher was arrested in August and charged with 10 counts of child molestation. The 20-year veteran of the Alhambra Police Department is a well-known figure locally who grew up in the city and has worked on school campuses and at community events.
After sentencing, Fisher was handcuffed and led out of the courtroom to be transported to state prison

Former Alhambra police Sgt. Michael James Fisher was sentenced Tuesday to three years in state prison for molesting two teenage boys.

While the victims and family members said they felt some relief, they also expressed disappointment with the sentence against Fisher, 42, a well-known Alhambra Police Department veteran who was arrested in August and pleaded guilty to child molestation in November.

"Today is a victorious day," said one victim's mother, who requested anonymity. But "to get three years, maybe one-and-a-half on good behavior, is nothing."

Fisher was charged with 10 counts of child molestation and pleaded guilty to five as part of a plea bargain.

Prosecutors say the former Covina resident molested one of the victims over an eight-month period in 2003 and the other in 2005 and 2006. They were between the ages of 14 and 18 when the crimes occurred.

The sentencing would have been more severe had a victim been under the age of 14, Deputy District Attorney Renee Korn has said.

Defense attorney John Barnett did not return calls for comment.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Luis Lavin allowed victims and their family members to make statements in court.

They expressed mixed emotions, ranging from hope to forgiveness to disappointment and anger.
"I stand here before all of you not as a victim but as a survivor," said one plaintiff, now 18, who is in the Explorer program at another police department. "Unlike you, I will continue wearing my uniform with the understanding that I took one of the many filthy molesters off the streets."

"You have no more power over anything in my life," he continued. "You are now powerless, hopeless, alone, a disgrace. But most of all, you are guilty."

In court, Fisher wore a blue sweat shirt and was accompanied by his girlfriend. He was handcuffed and escorted out after the sentencing.

He sat quietly and occasionally looked around the room while his victims spoke.

The Explorer Scout said afterward that Fisher initially presented himself as a mentor.

"He knew how badly I wanted to be a cop," he said. "He told me,`I'll keep you from becoming a cop. I know the chief, I know the sergeants.' That's what kept me quiet for a long time."

Fisher's other victim, now also 18, forgave him publicly in court.

"A man is not measured by wealth ... but by the struggles he fights every day," he said. "I say to you, I forgive you."

His mother, who was once married to Fisher, had harsher words.

"You tore up an entire family," she said. She also has two young daughters with Fisher. "You never had the guts to tell me to my face,`I'm sorry for hurting you."'

The mother of the other victim, who was molested in 2005 and 2006, questioned why Fisher was allowed to return to the department after a complaint was filed in 2003.

"I'm upset with the Police Department for allowing him to come back and put on the uniform and wear the badge, just to find his next victim," she said after the sentencing.

Alhambra police Chief James Hudson said there was an internal investigation into Fisher in late 2003 and early 2004. However, he declined to provide more information.

"I can't talk about internal affairs cases," Hudson said.

Fisher was a 20-year veteran of the Alhambra Police Department and an Alhambra native. He was placed on administrative leave after his arrest, and he resigned in October.

File Civil Suits

Los Angeles, CA

#116 Jan 29, 2007
For those of you molested by this sick bastard, take the opportunity to file a CIVIL SUIT against him. If he makes it out of prison, ALL of his assets need to be taken away from him and the CIVIL SUITS will make certain he has absolutely nothing. His guily plea in the CRIMINAL matter can be used against him in the CIVIL complaints. As we all know, he molested more than two children but Los Angeles County Sheriff obviously refused to investigate any further...he has been protected by the law enforcement community and why the City of Alhambra "allowed" him wear the badge makes me horribly ill. If you attempt to speak to anyone in Alhambra, you end up getting total silence or some bullshit response. I simply do not understand why the residents of Alhambra, and surrounding communities, have not made any efforts to remove the Chief of Police. How can all of those other officers who worked with him everyday NOT know what Fisher was up to all of these years? These are the same officers, the ones who allowed him to molest for over 20 years, who roam our community and are responsible for our safety...give me a break. If you have ever dealt with the Alhambra Police Department, you will quickly find out they do absolutely nothing except provide excuses as to why the community is full of crime. To the LASO and the Alhambra Police Department, you are an embarassment to those who care and want to make a difference.
DON'T forget to file those CIVIL SUITS...no time like the present to begin the process....

I strongly agree that those who have been taken advantage of by this disgraceful monster should seek monetary damages through a civil lawsuit. There is an attorney in the valley named George Denney who routinely represented victims of police abuse. I hope he or his office can help you get started.
As for my memories of Mike, I had once been a close friend of his. I met him shortly after he graduated high school. I remember he always used to "hang out" with younger boys, alot of them new to the country, Vietnamese, Chinese etc. He befriended these kids. Mike and someone with the initials MK (also well known in Alhambra) entertained these kids. These two (Mike and MK) never had a girlfriend and always preferred to kick back with the "guys." At the time, being rather young and naive myself, I just figured that Mike was gay and in the closet. It never entered my mind that he may in fact be abusing these kids that he surrounded himself with. Had I even had a suspicion, I would have said something immediately. I mention all this because it is my gut feeling that there are many, many other victims around that have never come forward. Perhaps they are still scared of what Mike can do to them. I am asking you all to be brave and find the courage to come forward. It will be a small step in bringing you some closure. As for the former Mrs. Fisher and family, I commend you for sticking together through this. I was at your wedding. I've met your children several times over the years. None of you deserve any of this. My prayers are with you to continue to try to heal and move on. Please seek legal counsel in regards to winning full custody of your little girls. Mike should have lost the right to be their daddy the day he pled guilty. Good luck in seeking civil damages against this dirty pig. Take away his condo, his house, his vacation place in Havasu, his automobiles, the clothes right off his back. He deserves nothing less.

I could not agree more with you..........Please Please take what this person has to say seriously and seek monetary damages. Do not let this sick person get out of prison and allow him to resume his life where he left off as if nothing ever happened. Since he pled guilty it sould be a very simple cut & dry case and you will win with ease. May God continue to bless you and guide you in the next step towards healing.

One down, many more to go. My God bless his victims and may you all have the power to put this behind you. I hope that you don't have to go thru your remaining years like me and have a 10 gauge shotgun, 44 magnum, and an AK next to you when you sleep. When you get older like me and have your first child it's going to come down on you like a ton of bricks nomatter what. Beleive me i know. My daughter is three now and i've told the local police, fire departments, and politicians not to cross that line society did when i was a kid with a wall of silence and laughter. This time around i will take the appropriate actions, and they will not like it, at all. I've learned to speak my feelings and express how i feel about the government, the people within it who use it as a shield to protect pedophiles, and the long term effects it has had on me as a survivor. God bless you and may your cup never be half full. "Take the long way home"- SuperTramp
Those CIVIL suits

Los Angeles, CA

#120 Feb 1, 2007
When those of you harmed for life file your CIVIL suits, don't forget to have the City of Alhambra named along with Fisher. ANYONE molested by Fisher can file a suit not just those who came forward in the CRIMINAL matter. As others have said, Fisher has been molesting young boys all of his life and law enforcement, the LASO, LA District Attorney and the City of Alhambra Police Department ALL protected him by NOT doing the proper investigation. With regards to other comments posted about how the APD could harbor such an animal, I agree the APD had to be aware of Fisher's behavior and obviously was OK with it...he was an Alhambra Police Officer for over 20 years and we are supposed to believe any sort of internal investigation EVER took place after the allegations in 2003/2004. With regards to the City, they have "deep pockets" and naming them in the CIVIL suit, along with Fisher, will make recovery more probable. The money will not take away the pain but reversing time is not an option. For those of you in pain, I am sorry and wish you nothing but the very best in the future. God Bless all of you.

I broke a window at an Elementary school when i was 10 and the Dicktective at EMPD told me that they were going to put me in jail with a bunch of adult child molesters, but they decided not to because they realized how much that i'd like it. Nice wholesome folks to look up to there. People wonder why people shoot at the police, Dahh!
