It will be interesting to see how the mayor addresses the former city manager issue. Especially the shooting incident. Something will have to be said because Mike Smith is supposed to be sitting in as city manager. It could be one interesting meeting.

Chrissy has set the precedent.

Which councilmember speaks first/last changes every meeting. Basically the mayor rotates it to be fair. Based on that Vitale will not be last or near last this time. Probably a sure bet that he speaks before Rusie and her puppet Rubino.

Agreed, The union contractors will be showing up again. A majority of council will still not give into their greedy demands. They should learn from the last council meeting on that matter.

...if they could find them they should pass out Twinkies and NHL Hockey Pucks! Another two "collective bargaining groups" who simply want "a living wage" but are willing to cutoff their nose to spite their face and rest on he laurels of their forefathers who brought the "40 hour work week" and "child labor laws" into being. Give it a real rest guys... unions have done ZIP, NOTHING, NADA since before the PATCO and Detroit Newspaper strikes of the 1970s and 1980s. What a joke!

Can't disagree with you. If so many of these workers are out of work because there is very little work here, then why don't they go to the east coast where the storm Sandy hit? The people there need workers to help them rebuild. Just think of the money they'd be making. That's what a lot of workers did when hurricane Katrina hit the south. Nowadays you have to go where the work is and not expect the work to be in your backyard.

Those poor unemployed workers want to pull work from other poor unemployed workers, who apparently generally earn way less than they do for the same work.

The union blowhards are out of work beacuse no one wants to pay them $50/hr when others are qualified to do it for $30/hr.

I hope the city council continues to recognize that non union work is just as good as the unions. The state recognizes that and showed that th unions are not ad powerful ad they think with the failure of Prop 2.

Prevailing wage was established back in its day to discriminate against lower paid minority workers. You can see the vestiges of it from that union thug that made comments about Mexican workers at the one council meeting. I had Mexican brick layers do my house. They worked from sun up to sunset and got the job done fast and it was great work. Union thugs would have cost 4 times that and taken 4 times as long for the exact same end product.

Loved the union thugs during audience participation. A couple of Sheet Metal guys that don't live in the area were the best.

Phil came up and talked about the remodel he did on the building in 1978 or so, funny Phil, you were a freshman in high school then, didn't realize you were a contractor back then.

His information regarding asbestos and lead was all wrong, 100% asbestos is powder, not floor tiles, Asbestos manufacturing was not banned in 1978, it is still widely produced and used in many products.

Any building being demo'ed needs to have a lead paint survey done, and precautions following EPA guidelines used during demolition. It will not affect the neighborhoods or other city buildings in the area. It is the same protocol when the city demos a home in the city. No union thugs are mentioning when that happens.

Union misinformation is disgusting, but that's how we elect our public officials, right Sarah, Sandy and Barry?

Chris Vitale will enter into any house for sale and conduct any inspection he damn well pleases. If you don't like it, he'll attack you at a council meeting.

The city can send you a letter and, if you don't opt out, they're going in your backyard to inspect. Nevermind if your letter got lost or something. But don't worry, they'll turn a blind eye to any other code violations they see. LOL. Because they're good at ignoring the small stuff. Kind of like that guy's couple inches of chipped up paint on his garage door. Maybe they'll measure your house while they're back there.

What the hell is going on in this city that this stuff is ok.
