Prayers for a full recovery for both. Truly an heroic act...something that will always keep a special bond between father and son.

BonaResponds (from St. Bonaventure University) will be teaming up with local volunteers (being coordinated through the Olean General Hospital) to help fix up a home for this family. It will take place on December 9th, 2007, starting at 9 AM.

"We are trying to get the money, materials, and volunteers together for this rehaband are praying daily that God will provide.

Directions: Take 5 mile to rte 16 towards Franklinville. Turn left onto 98 South. Go down 5 or so miles (This is not exact).Morgan Hollow is shortly after the Town of Humphrey sign on the righthand side. Turn right. Oliver does not have a street sign, but it is the first right. We are hoping to get some signs made up. We will be starting about 9 AM but whatever time you get there, is fine.Thank you so much for your help."

Jesse truly is a great man! I had the chance to get to know him while we were looking for their new house, which is now the one that will be worked on in a few days. Not only is he a hero for saving his son, and not giving up on him, but he is also a hero for the love and devotion he showed Sherry and little Jesse when there wasn't a crisis. He is the picture of a man every man should be. God be with you now and forever!

What greater love than that a parent should sacrafice his/her life for their children. My prayers are with this young father, and his family.

Yes, please don't throw this story under the bus like every other newsmonger.

Also, I'm sure that dad reacted simply by instinct. Godspeed for a full recovery, pops!

What a dad! Let's hope his recovery goes smoothly, and that next Christmas finds the whole family happy and well.
